2020 Frugal Living Challenge

Hi
I would like to join for 2020. I have cleared my credit card & catalogue debt this year and will have hopefully paid my loan off early by May 2020. I want to be more frugal so that I have healthy savings and have money set aside for travels. I am such a fritterer and impulse shopper but hoping that I will be able to buy ‘needs’ rather than ‘wants’ from now on.

I’ve sorted my budget for 2020
I’ve worked out my outgoings ,including how much to put away each month to cover birthdays, Christmas, car tax, insurance etc. I’ve struggled with getting Xmas presents this year due to some hefty car bills knocking out my savings so I want to prepare for next Xmas as early as possible.
I do like Martin Lewis’s idea to stop buying presents though and I have cut down this year which is a start .
Onward and upward for 2020 :money:1 -
Hello all,
Can I join? I want to be as frugal with the joint account next year so that we pay the rates on time and actually have a little nest egg of savings just encase!
Personally I am going away for 3 weeks in January for an American holiday of a lifetime, it's bleeding me dry and I really need to recoup my costs ect over next year so I only have one really bad I cannot afford anything years instead of two. So I'm going to have to be super frugal!1 -
Please add me to the 2020 frugal challenge... it is a life I plan to continue and for me that is no new clothes that I cannot make myself (i.e. Jeans, lingerie and shoes are out of my skill set at the moment!), use all the products (beauty and cleaning) in the house before buying more, reduce food waste by using a menu, walk more to reduce tube costs, etcWell lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

I'd like to join this challenge too please. Our debts are large and getting me down. DH is finally on board, got a new (much better paid job) and is starting to think about how we can save rather than spend money. At last! It's only been 10 years...
My aims are to waste nothing, mend and repair things I would have previously thrown away, reignite my crafty side and make presents and cards for friends like I used to, grow our own fruit and veg and generally lift myself out of the black pit I've been floundering around in and make inroads into the huge amount we owe.
Looking forward to cheering everyone else on too!1 -
Can I please join?, I want this to be as frugal as possible this year. I am lucky that I have never had debts , things are paid off etc, and on the whole live a very simple life but just want to manage the wants and needs.
Budget for 2020 complete
I aim to meal plan, ys shop asap, use my crafty stash instead of just buying and hoarding it. try to grow the veg again, follow some other challenges for motivation.
My goal is to retire far sooner than the ever increasing retirement age - I can dream !!1 -
