Had some tyres fitted today. Did some rining round and got a quote for £150 fitted, rang around and managed.to get them for £114 fitted (mid range tyres). Quite pleased with that as I didn't think I'd get a better price for same day fitting. Also avoids the fine I might have had if I'd left it. Left thencar at he garage and walked home rather than browsing and spending in the nearby shops.
Did some more batch cooking today using the slow cooker. Trying to do that regularly so it's easy for work days. I do long shifts so it's 2 meals each shift.
Budget isn't too bad, though I've noticed diesel has gone up in price. 1 -
Did some batch cooking today - fish pie from the scraps to which I added prawns, then made two pizzas using Naan bread which had been reduced to 60p for the two, then I made a huge mixed bean chilli. All in the freezer now. Then made a pasta mix with leftover veggies from pizza mixed in for lunch tomorrow
Now just the washing up to tackle!

My Dear Frugal Friends,
According to Numbeo, the city with the lowest cost of living is: Thiruvananthapuram, India (19.9 pts vs Zurich 127.8 pts)
It has an ocean view, sunny climate, some ancient temples and a naked lady with huge tits sculpture. 😍
What the heck am I doing in central Europe, working from 9-6 just to spare some money for a miserable pensioner life. Hm?! 🖕1 -
Hi Crafty Lisa,
This is the link to the second one, which I'm currently reading my way through, and it has a link to the first thread as well.

Thanks for that. I will have a good read of that although there are a lot of pages to get through. It will keep me out of trouble.Lisa x

I might add a bit more ginger in future though.
It may be old news to you, but here goes! If you find a nice and firm piece of ginger then keep it on a warm windowsill then it will sprout - at this point, plant it with the sprit upwards, in some compost, keep it damp-ish and in good light and then not only will you have a lovely leafy indoor plant [depending on the weather it might be ok outside in the hot summer, do check RHS online!] but it will be growing new rhizomes and you'll have a good supply next winter! Don't forget to replant or keep planting year round for a reliable supply, for freeIf you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!1 -

I didn't know that, must have a go. I've been trying to find a refreshing hot drink and put a slice of ginger root into some hot water. It was really refreshing. Hopefully I will now have a good source my new drink :coffee:OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Have thrown no food away since the start of the year, may have had a couple of strange meals but it all got used.
Been making Birthday Cards from my craft stock rather than buying them.
Looking for handmade gift ideas.
Made Succulents in Teacups as Mothers Day Presents which went down really well. Any ideas for this year?1 -
I needed an 'It's a Boy!' card, but didn't have one. I did find a 'congratulations!' card with a large blue butterfly, so I used that, and wrote an appropriate message inside.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.591

How is it going for everyone?
My week was going well until I paid £24 today to get my bike breaks fixed. I have a really tight budget, so I will be over it this week. Its good to have the bike fixed tho.1
