Everyone's doing so well:beer:. I've tried to live a frugal life for years (from necessity when I was deep in debt:o) but I enjoy the challenge of being economical, I get a sense of satisfaction out of even little 'wins'. I've spotted some great moneysaving ideas that others have mentioned already this month. Thanks, all:T
I cancelled my Amazon Prime subs yesterday:j. I was on a low cost trial but I know I won't use any of the options like the video and music. I'm a book addict but have vowed NOT to buy any more books this year and the only benefit of Prime that I'd use is free next day delivery which if I don't buy anything I won't need;). .
My electricity supplier emailed me to say my monthly DD is decreasing by £7 a month:j. I'm already on the best tariff and have always cut usage to the bone. I can't understand why they now say my usage has gone down but I'll take it:rotfl:.1 -
Yesterday was another no spend day here!
Cooked all meals from scratch and used what we had in.
Real sense of achievement from staying in control of my spending and reducing household waste to a minimum!1 -
Tonight we're having beef stew made from leftovers. Have also just found £1.50 in change which will pay for my exercise class tomorrow saving me withdrawing anything from the bank.Spend less now, work less later.1

Morning folks, I hope everyone is having a good day. I have started cutting up old sheets to remake as kitchen clothes, there are four cut up and ready to sew. I've been meaning to do these for a while but haven't got round to it. I might get the sewing machine out tonight if I have time when I get home.
I have been thinking about making myself some reusable cotton pads. I don't wear much make-up but I do use them to apply toner and eyebright daily. I have a bag of cotton pads set aside which I will use up first and then look to make some.1 -

All good plans........... ordered my bulk lot of loo roll and My Hermes tried to deliver in the only time I wasnt home. So I have tried to arrange a re-delivery. What I didnt know was that they only have robots and machines dealing with everything. Its either a push button format, which then hangs up on you or a bot telling you it cant help. Not even an email adddress........ after an hour of playing this game I went back to the shop (via email) and said could they arange a redelivery.
Its such a stress
On the plus side I have now got the ingredients to bulk cook several meals for the freezer, so thats my afternoon sorted

You've just reminded me that I bought some muslin cloths to remove makeup a few weeks ago and forgot about them. Will sort them out and cross cotton pads off my shopping list.Spend less now, work less later.1

Hi all, an eventful few days here. On the 2nd DS2 and his partner arrived for a few days. On 3rd DH fell through the barn roof! Luckily he's only battered and bruised, nothing broken except his glasses and his pride. He fell around 8 feet onto concrete! (The part of the roof he was fixing before Christmas is around 15 feet high!)
DS and partner went home on 4th. DD2 her OH and baby son arrived on 5th for a few days.
Have been very good spending wise. Only bought milk and reductions, things we will use and would have needed anyway. Will probably go to Tesco tomorrow (make use of DD2's discount,to stock up on beans, pasta, and anything else that is the same price as Aldi).
Hope you are all well, welcome to all the new faces, mumtoomany.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.1 -

Ooh, was thinking about loo roll yesterday and looked through the forum, but couldn’t find much. What did you go with? Sorry you had such stress. I find posting and delivery of things such a pain generally x1
