Amazon warranty BEWARE.

Replacement is arriving today so all well in the end.
But my vent is that when buying an Amazon product from a third party in the UK how does the consumer know wether they are buying a .com or a .co.uk product????? As I bought in June this year I had no claim against the seller and was using Amazons warranty for my claim.
Also it seems the people who answer when using .co.uk chat do not speak English very well. I had many replies that simply did not make sense and they obviously did not understand my questions. They also lie and when caught out simply ignore the point.
Anyone want to buy a faulty HD8?0 -
Products from third parties are simply sold by vendors who use Amazon's portal, they are not in any way Amazon.knightstyle wrote: »when buying an Amazon product from a third party in the UK how does the consumer know wether they are buying a .com or a .co.uk product?
Amazon does indeed provide the selling portal, but it's entirely up to you, the consumer, to decide whether to buy from these third parties.
It's perfectly clear from the product description exactly where you are purchasing from.
In your particular situation, I recommend only purchasing direct from Amazon.co.uk in future.Carefully read the checkout page prior to submission.
So you aren't intending to return it?:eek:knightstyle wrote: »Anyone want to buy a faulty HD8?0 -

You know because if you go to .co.uk you'll get UK stuff and if you go to .com it'll be US.
You simply won't get stuff sent from Amazon.com or fulfilled by it on the UK site.
Although I'm surprised that you didn't notice being billed in USD.0 -
^Please read what I said! I bought from a third party seller.
So I ask AGAIN how does a buyer like me, buying brand new from a third party know if the item is from .com or .co.uk???????
There was no indication of this and I registered it as new with .co.uk.0 -
But yet again you still haven't said which website did you use, amazon.com or amazon.co.uk?knightstyle wrote: »^Please read what I said! I bought from a third party seller.

It will have said this in the product listings. It would have said this at the checkout. It will still say this on the invoice which you can bring up by searching your purchases.knightstyle wrote: »^Please read what I said! I bought from a third party seller.

I think perhaps online shopping is not for you.
How could you "register" your item with Amazon if you bought from a Third Party?knightstyle wrote: »I registered it as new with .co.uk.0 -
You can indeed do this. It's called "Amazon Global Store"You simply won't get stuff sent from Amazon.com or fulfilled by it on the UK site.

International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions.
Manufacturer warranty will not apply. Please review Amazon’s return policy, which usually offers free returns within 30 days of receipt."
The OP also won't have been charged in US Dollars.0 -

In which case you have no rights against amazon (UK or US) whatsoever. The fact they manufacture the product is irrelevant.
Sounds like they have gone way above and beyond for you as usual.0
