Hello all. I'm back. Haven't time to read through so hope you're all ok.

So far today I have done dailies, s&sd bathrooms, scrubbed kitchen sink. Third load of washing has just finished. Going to do physio next then pop into town. Oh and I've done household finances.

    Afternoon all

Supermarket was hellish this morning but I got it all done, big shop as my store cupboard was looking a bit sparse. Full again now though!

DH had not done much when I came back as he had a work emergency to deal with so I unpacked the shop and got to it.

    Lounge dusted and hoovered
Dining room deep cleaned, moved all the furniture out and cleaned behind, cleaned the window, changed the curtains for some warmer ones that we had from the last house that just fitted nicely. Put other curtains in to wash
    Laundry shuffled
    Kitchen cleaned
    Downstairs floors mopped
Downstairs loo and utility room cleaned
Hallway cleaned and sorted through the coats, put the lighter ones away and got the winter ones out.

Just been back out again to fill up with fuel, I forgot this morning and we have decided to go out for the day tomorrow. Going to meet my Mum and sister at a sort of halfway point, natty trust place that I’ve not been to before, will be hoping for weather like today. Don’t mind it being cold as long as it’s dry.

I’m doing a roast dinner this evening as we are out tomorrow, looking forward to that.

Have a lovely evening all. May not be on tomorrow so will see you on the new thread if not xx
  • Hellloooooo

Just got back from a 24 hour visit to friends.
House is clean (thank you lovely cleaner)

But I do need to fly - so, jobs for this afternoon/evening.

    Wash all washing
    Hang all wet washing up
    Put all dry washing away
    Unpack stuff from being away
    Rationalise the fridge
Wrap some Christmas presents (ready for a Christmas brunch next Saturday)

    Think that's it actually.

Enough to be getting on with when I just want to snuggle in front of the fire with a book.

Kitchen cleaned. 2 batches of soup made and portioned (12 portions).

  • Plague infested schoolchildren all week means that I have done nowt all week. Himself took to bed with the sniffles for three days and is still feeling sorry for himself, so has done nowt all week.

I asked him when he was planning to do anything, seeing as HIS BLIDDY MOTHER AND SISTER ARE COMING TO STAY ON MONDAY to do the London Xmas Shopping they can afford (but can't afford to get a hotel this time. Maybe because MIL has spent all her money on fancy holidays with her boyfriend again this year).

I couldn't sleep all night, so had a bath at 4am and finally dozed off on the settee at 6.30am, just as he got up for work. He came back at 2pm and has been cleaning ever since.

I might do something to assist tomorrow.

Took advantage of the discounts to provide Idiot Cats with posh food for the next six months and then, when the microwave finally died on Friday, I endured his grumbling about how expensive they were then, once I found some discounts, he suddenly got interested in colour/style. Half an hour after I had tried to click buy, I managed to find a supposedly lightly dinked one on the big A-Z site for under £45, as it added a further 20% discount I hadn't noticed on top of the 50% compared to normal price.

It arrived this evening. It's absolutely perfect, not a single mark anywhere, but the outside box looked a bit rubbish.

It's also a dark copper/brass colour with a mirrored door. Which is surprisingly attractive.

I did some work - I wiped the surface it's sitting on and placed it on top of a butchers' block so it doesn't scratch the freezer underneath/gets it to countertop height.

And I'm eating burger and chips. Which is nice.

    But HIS MOTHER IS COMING.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

    Evening all.

Hallway and lobby cleaned, hoovered, dusted and mopped. 30 seconds later...trashed by a pack of hounds...seriously!?

Small had a "fun" gymnastics competition at his club and was devastated to come last out of his small group of boys. Especially as one of the other lads mis-stepped and crashed into the vault on his turn, cried, limped off and was then allowed to have another go at the end and my Small was not allowed to include bonus-scoring moves in his floor routine as he is younger than the others (and not allowed to perform certain moves without supervision) but that the others were, which meant his total score would never have placed him higher than fifth unless one of the older boys completely fluffed it...oh, did I mention that one of them did? And another landed his somersault on his bottom, forgot a twist move and was still given third place. Momma Bear is not happy

Rage cleaned the oven drawer I keep my baking tins in, but I'm still upset for my boy. Gone to bed with a right cob on.

Dizzy.. we have similar at swimming.. I remind mine they will be the oldest one day and bigger and stronger and they will do better than the younger children because they will have more practice and lots of other advantages. It is part of growing up and learning they cannot be the winner every time but they must always be their best.. There are also a lot of underhand goings on at these comps too. My friends daughters competed for a VERY long time and she had the same but it got better as they got older, then they started being downmarked because they ate food and looked like people not waifs. He did the best he possibly could and his absolute best and he should be proud to have got that far being younger .. it is all practice and experience for future competitions.. I hope he found the whole experience exciting and fun because that is what matters really. XxXxX

I.. cleaned the bottom of my smoky oven!!! I don't think I have ever done that one before.

I spent 5 hours sorting presents into boxes per child/family group today.. that was chronically boring but I have got so much more room now it is reboxed and stacked neater. I will have so much room for a week after christmas lol.

I have some quids from my mother too so once that is in bank I can finish MY shopping.. 4 men to buy for .. 3 I barely know.. just token gifts for them really as they will be here when we are exchanging gifts and it would be rude to leave them out. And my stepdad.. what the heck do you get a 73 year old man who has everything he could possibly want or need which won't clutter the house and isn't edible or alcoholic? (I don't buy alcohol gifts for anyone) I already have him brandy snap and licourice allsorts.

  • Hi all

Ionafan I havent started Christmas shopping yet either, except for family who are visiting next weekend.

Feeling down, not sleeping well. DS1 is still poorly, DH has had to take a lot of time off for various reasons so very little money coming in. Work is stressful. And I have got a cold!

Ah well, things can only get better eh?
