Good, anything that encourages people to reuse or do without is to be applauded.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Are they "bags for life"? If so you are supposed to be able to get a free replacement when it breaks or wears out.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

On the other hand it it can be a problem.
I need bags for rubbish.
Most available such are now weak and not up to some jobs (it is not for everything, I do hate waste).
I have even tried to buy decent bags anywhere, but the pay bags are often more resonably sized (does not apply to sainsburys!) and cheaprer than I can source for 1000 items. (and the crap ones took ages to use up and i had to be careful and double bag, and there are ones that are a lot worse).
And don't forget the law of unintended consequences. Plastic = bad is all well and good but paper bags often give more environmental impact (and yes I understand if we use more paper is should reduce). On t hat thing what about my itchy scalp. Coal tar shampoo is gettign more and more expensive. People think coal should be banned, but there are many more uses than they think. Applies to most things. I think people need to not obsess as much and debate what and why.0 -

Just bulk buy on Amazon or Ebay, read up on the specs and buy the largest size with the highest micron count that you can for your use. We've been doing that ever since the first charge stopped free supermarket bags, we pay around 3.5 to 4p per bag now.0

Sainsubrys have doubled the price of their carrier bags from 10p to 20p overnight.

I don't see this as bad. Bring your own bags to shop with and you won't have any problems. The bag legislation has now been in place for 4 years. How long does it take for something so simple as bring your own bag to sink in?I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -

I have a couple of the heavier duty "crinkly" ones that were about 60p, and have been using these for well over a year. I only buy a 10p bag when I have bought more than I intended or popped out for one thing and ended up with six!I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
