Hi. I think it was due to having a 4K Barclaycard with them witched I’ve just cleared yesterday. My credit score is 945.(excellent) so I’m just putting it down to the outstanding CC.

I doubt that had anything to do with it.

And your “excellent” credit score has nothing to do with any lending decisions.

He has £125,000 to deposit in an account which pays no interest but had £4,000 interest bearing debt on a Barclaycard (I assume that is what he means by clearing a 4K Barclaycard).

That 945 is a figure made up by the credit co you use. Banks do not see that figure. They use their own internal scoring for accounts and will check credit ref co's for anything out of the ordinary. If you have missed any payments that shows on internal bank systems and is shared across the big banks.

If anyone figured out how to use the rewards please let me know! I’ve got the black card (go me) but can’t work out how to get the other benefits.

I think the OP wanted the black card to prove that they were on the right side of the race agenda :)

If you have a smartphone, download the Barclays premier rewards app. It then asks for you to enter your name email address and DOB, then you should be good to go.

So you just happened to have a spare 125k sitting about but never thought that clearing a 4k outstanding balance was a good idea?
Also, what is the point in having 125k sitting in a non-interest account? If you just wanted to have a Premier account, you only need to have 100k saved with Barclays so why didn't you put 100k into one of there (shockingly low but better than 0%) savings accounts and then the other 25k into a Marcus account or similar?

That's right. If you can't, or won't, use a smartphone then I understand there's also an equivalent website where you can apply for physical membership cards, print off vouchers, etc. But the app is much more convenient.

Barclays Premier - I used the Patisserie Valerie free coffee every other day for a few years. Shame that's gone as the other perks aren't much use to me (apart from the English Heritage one once in a while.

I asked them if they were going to replace Patisserie Valerie last time they called me up, and they said that none of the big chains like Costa were up for it.

I've never earned anywhere near the threshold to become Premier (and yes, the last debit card they sent me was black) yet was random upgraded 5 years ago.

'Random' upgraded? You mean like some sort of lottery. Every 10th customer upgraded or customers names randomly chosen from a hat?
