Given your husband's health problems, can you put in a request for a room on the opposite side of the hotel away from the works on the path to the side of the hotel?
Presumably there will still be access to the hotel from the front and also possibly from the other side of the hotel away from the footpath works?
May not even be a big job and not take long to do, whateveritis being done.0 -
It would be well worth checking the Tripadvisor forum
