i had a item for sale that was won on the 10th of april , i sent an invoive to say only do cheque or postal order or bankers draft . she then e-mailed me back asking if she could send cash recorded delivery i said yes after a couple of week payment was still not recieved so e-mailed again she said she had to wait for her cheque to clear before she could send payment which will be next week waited another 10 days no payment.
e-mailed again she said cheque still hadnt cleared will be on its way soon e-mailed a week later after still no payment to say that if i dont recieve payment in five days i would report to e-bay and leave feedback , i had a e-mail back saying that the lady who won the item has been took into hospital and that this was her daughter she would talk to her mum to find out where payment was i said i would give her five days to let me know what was happening then we would take it from there .
after six days i reported them to e-bay she said she couldnt understand why i had reported them she told me her mum was in hospital and was in to much pain to talk so i e-mailed back saying i would give them another five days if i heard nothing i would resell the item and leave negative feedback . she them said ok payment will be sent on monday it is sunday now so should SHOULD get it wednesday , but what do i do either weather i recieve payment or not what feedback do i leave an worried she will leave negative for me as i have 100 %

It is always difficult when they hold you to ransom over feedback. ie. they will leave you retaliation feedback if you leave them a neg !

Give them till Wednesday, then report them as a Non paying bidder to get a black mark against there name.

The person may be being dishonest. I won a single bed and the woman emailed me to say that I could no longer have it as when she got it out of the loft the slats were broken. Alarm bells rang when I thought, who the heck puts a bed in the loft !! So I emailed her saying that `I really wanted the bed and that I was willing to pay more for it`. Sure enough, she emailed back saying that the bed hadn`t reached as much as she wanted and thats why she lied to me. She apologies. I was hacked off. and i DID NOT buy the bed in the end because of her dishonesty.

So it goes to show that buyers and sellers do make things up to buy time.

What a c-o-c-k and bull story from your buyer!

Give them the NEG they rightly deserve.

:o Me. I put allsorts in my loft. I could probably almost furnish a house with what's in my loft. (Loft is floored)

I think there still may even be (1) bunkbed up there somewhere. :D There's certainly bookcases, drawers and a fireplace.

Edit: Sorry, too busy rambling forgot to offer opinion. If it were me, I wouldn't wait any longer. Their story may be true but you don't know them, they are not your friends and you cannot be expected to wait any longer imo.

Wait until Wednesday. Dont send any emails telling them you will neg them if payment doesn't arrive as they could then report you for feedback extortion!

If they deserve the neg then neg them.

I have negged 2 people - one guy sent my stuff by 1st class when I had paid special delivery - when it hadn't arrived I sent countless emails, they replied to the first few, ignored me for 2 weeks, so I put in a chargeback through paypal. Paypal refunded me £0.51p out of £12.50 as that was all he had in the account! I left a neg. He left a nasty one back about me being rude - I followed it up with a comment that it is a retalitory neg only and left it at that. Its ruined my 100% to 99.7%!! But he deserved it. My feedback can take it.
The other - again the goods didn't arrive. Shes a newbie and didn't even get a COD from RM. After a lot of fobbing off, she too has decided to ignore me. I have negged her for £3.00. She had already left feedback for me, but she too deserved it.

It is these people responsibility to get the goods to me regardless of how they are sent/paid for and I expected something back. I have refunded straight away for an item that didn't arrive in Canada and expect the same back
(And I realise now that I have gone on a bit!!!!)

There are lots of buyers out there (and Sellers) who lie through their teeth and frankly, she may be telling the truth, but unlikely. Wait until Wednesday and then neg her. Make sure the neg you leave it polite and factual and IF she leaves one for you then reply to it calmly and factual.

Honestly, getting a neg back isn't really heartbreaking! And most ebayers can spot a retalitory neg a mile off. It won't affect sales.

You cannot stop them leaving a neg whatever you do, so you might as well start the NPB process to get your fees back otherwise you will be out of pocket as well.

The NPB strike does more harm than a neg anyway and you only have a short time frame to start the process, some buyers will keep sending sob stories until you exceed that time frame so that they don't get the strike.

You have 90 days to leave a neg, so sit back and wait on that one if you want, just make sure you do the NPB process and *don't* go for the mutual option as if the buyer refuses to agree you don't get your fees back at all.

I only discovered the moneysaving delights of ebay earlier this year and since then, in 50 transactions, have had 3 emails from buyers who have either been in hospital themselves, or have mother/partner/child in hospital hence reason for not paying promptly.

The excuse wears thin after a while and people would prefer honesty up-front.

Perhaps I'm just cynical. Leave a neg. If the rest of your feedback is good then it will cope with it. Any good buyer will read through feedback carefully and weigh up. Just make sure you word it effectively. :)

NPB - Non-paying bidder. It sounds like you've already started this.

Perhaps someone can help with a really effective way of wording your negative feedback making the situation totally clear for those who read it. What's her feeback so far?
