It’s on its way, like the new TMY.

Not sure a South Korean car company would want to be seen to be associated with Russia at the moment.  And I thought  they could only have Chinese or Indian  cars now...

Looks like the 2024 ZEV mandate of 22% was manageable, but that this year's 28% will be the real test as things get tougher. I assume that Nov/Dec 2024 saw some companies discounting to bring in extra sales, whilst some encountered 'problems' delaying BEV delivery till this year, if they were doing OK.

Not sure when it will really bite. 33% in 2026 and 38% in 2027 seem like reasonable increases, but perhaps the 14% increases each year after, such as 52% in 2028 will be really tough, then 66% & 80% in 2029 and 2030 respectively.

All carmakers in UK to escape fines for missing electric car sales targets in 2024

No carmaker in the UK will have to pay fines for missing electric car sales targets in 2024, according to analysis.

All but one carmaker sold enough cars, or will be able to use so-called flexibilities, to avoid steep fines under the zero-emissions vehicle (ZEV) mandate, according to estimates by T&E, a campaign group that focuses on transport and environment issues. One carmaker, Japan’s Suzuki, will have to buy credits from rivals to avoid fines.

But intense industry lobbying, based on fears that ZEV sales will fail to pick up significantly next year, is expected to persuade ministers to relax the scheme and help most manufacturers to avoid fines in 2026 also.

Brands including the top-selling Volkswagen, Ford, Toyota and Britain’s biggest carmaker, JLR, which runs Jaguar and Land Rover, are among those who will have to use additional loopholes to avoid fines, according to T&E’s analysis.

And while here on the ground FSD is long awaited it would appear this aspect has been achieved in three dimensions as opposed to just the two up in the airways. Admittedly not as congested in the low altitude scene but, whether we like it or not it does suggest that China is leading the field and the world towards a FF free future. However, I can't imagine that energy consumption per person, per mile would match that of it's four wheeled EV cousins us mere mortals here are used to driving on a daily basis.

Chinese electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft company Ehang has completed a demonstration flight of its autonomous air taxi in Shanghai.
