It was looking to be *this* year before all the COVID supply-chain issues.

Still could be. I prefer under promising and over achieving though. Tony Seba is pretty confident that ICE vehicles will be finished by 2030 and his battery cost estimates were a little out on the late side.

To be fair, he did predict price parity in 2022, but that was at 200 miles range. The point he made was that, there will come a point where it won't be economical to accept a gift from your uncle of his old petrol car as the cost of fuelling it will be unattractive.

We all want to see it but then none of us should be clicking on it as it just gives more money to the 'content creators'

I'm not sure how you can reach that conclusion, unless you're opposed to eyewitness reporting in general.
    1. It isn't his car.
    2. It wasn't a planned or organised event.
    3. He opens and closes the video by saying it was a stupid thing for the driver to do and a lot of people could have been killed (fortunately no-one was hurt).

I think it's quite a good advert for Tesla safety; occupants including cat were all fine.  A few bags of sand in the boot and that would have been OK.

No new combustion vehicles in Washington State by 2030

The US state of Washington has passed a bill banning the sale, purchase and registration of new petrol-powered vehicles of model year 2030 or later.

This article has been posted on another thread but what wasn’t made clear in the article or the other thread is that the ban applies to “model year 2030 or later” not to all ICE cars registered in 2030.

I am anticipating that most manufacturers will have ceased new ICE development by 2030 but they may still be manufacturing vehicles of MY2029 specification which it appears may still be registered in Washington state.

If the prophesies around the demise of the ICE car are true then in 2030 there may be fields of old model ICE vehicles just waiting for a buyer, just as there were old MG models when the company went bust. (I read somewhere recently that you can still buy new Mk7 Golfs even though the Mk8 has been out for some time.)

It could be that the few people who still want an ICE car may be able to source one well into the 2030s under this legislation as long as it is the older model year.
