Analyst: Tesla Could Grab 25% Of Total Auto Market Share By 2026
Recently, Wood said she expects Tesla's market share to comprise up to 25% of the total automotive market share by 2026. She went on to say that rivals may simply already be too late to the game, and they're still not doing nearly enough to catch up.Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)0 -

In which country/countries? USA - quite possibly. China - no chance.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

Worldwide, around 80 million vehicles are sold every year. With a 20 to 25 percent share, this would mean Tesla could sell around 20 million vehicles a year by 2025. For comparison, Tesla sold 500,000 vehicles last year.
Cathie Wood defends her prediction by pointing out Tesla already has a 60% share of the electric vehicle market in the US and a 20% share worldwide. In her firm’s earlier analysis, ARK expected Tesla’s EV market share to fall as new electric vehicles are introduced to the market.

Ignoring any other factors, to consider the suggestion that Tesla could take 25% of global car sales by 2026 (only 5 years):
1. What is the Tesla percentage of global car sales presently?
2. What is the maximum percent of global car sales of any one company presently? I suppose we have to consider multi-brand companies as one company for this assessment - e.g. VAG as a group, not each individual brand.
3. The linked articles seem to be referring to sales volume (number of cars), not sales value.0 -
I also wonder what the market share of Tesla-priced cars is. Not every new car buyer can afford a car that expensive so it will be a limiting factor.0

Tesla are on track for just under 1 million vehicles this year. The global market is around 70 Million.
Next year they're expecting to be closer to 2 million vehicles as they're opening two new factories this Winter, and over 2 million in 2022 once those factories are fully up and running.
I don't think the ARK theory is worth paying much attention to. In theory it might be possible, but not probable.8kW (4kW WNW, 4kW SSE) 6kW inverter. 6.5kWh battery.1 -

VAG and Toyota keep trading the top spot with around 8% of the global market each.Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)0
