last weekend I parked the car at 95% around 6pm Friday, and when I entered again on Monday morning I'd lost 25% to sentry mode.

Where was the car parked for this period?  Somewhere private, or a public space?

The reason I ask is that I assume Sentry Mode uses one level of power consumption when it is in "monitor" and a higher level of power when it is being "active".

I know I saw a TM3 a while back parked in a public car park, which obviously had the Sentry Mode activated as I walked past, obviously closer than I realised, as the car started talking to me.  I didn't realise at first what it was, so stepped back for the car to speak again.  I then wasted a few minutes walking up to the carto see the places where it reacted and where it ignored me.  I can imagine if the car was in a public place, the cumulative effect of those announcements and starting recording etc would soon add up if there were several people just trying out the reactions from Sentry Mode over the course of the weekend.
Interesting,  mine doesn't talk, it only flashes the side lights and the screen says Sentry mode active or similar.

It was in a public place, I had 15 videos of cars coming very close as they passed by or people passing the car.

Thankfully I didn't have anyone approaching the car multiple times going back and forward... I'd imagine the owner of the car you triggered would have a pretty funny video to watch back.

It's always recording,  but then deleting,  but if Sentry is activated then it saves a few minutes before and a Few after its been activated.

Vampire drain as I believe its called, for having sentry mode on, seems to take around 3-4% a night, if the scottish chargers weren't free, I'd probably have switched it off by now, but since I'm using it every day, and most days have access to a charger while I'm working, I barely notice it.
And just to completely contradict myself, last weekend I parked the car at 95% around 6pm Friday, and when I entered again on Monday morning I'd lost 25% to sentry mode.

I'd usually use the car on the weekend but didn't at all, and so was quite surprised at the drain.

Certainly makes me think twice about leaving sentry on if I was away for a week, though it does switch off if the battery reaches 20% anyway.
Whoa! That's some drainage considering the size of the Tesla battery. Thankfully our Leaf doesn't have such an option, at least I'm not aware that it has, but in the January of 2019 we left it in a car park while taking a fortnights break in the sun with 55% of charge remaining. Naturally nervous about making it home without having to stop on the return journey it was with some relief that it had lost but 1% during the time we were away. Arrived home with 12% remaining. Phew!

China PEV sales are a tad volatile, to say the least, typically with a surge in the second half of the year, perhaps due to policies. Anyways, looks like this year could see a decent uptick in sales.

Plugin Vehicles Score 15% Market Share In China In July!

Share-wise, July kept shares at record levels, hitting 15% (12% full electrics/BEVs). This pulled the 2021 share to 12% (9.4% BEV), and considering that the second half of the year is usually China’s strongest, we can now safely assume that the country’s plugin vehicle market share will end above the 10% 15% mark this year, and the total tally of the year will certainly exceed 2 million deliveries!

Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

Yeah, I can't exactly remember the process.  The car may have bleeped and flashed first, but then it certainly did get to a point of saying something like "step away from the vehicle".  Maybe even also about calling for assistance.  It was some while back when the TM3 was new.  Maybe there are settings for the owner, or maybe it only does the warnings if you are persistent.

One observation - the vehicle was plugged in to charge.  I wonder whether the responses are different then than simply on battery?

I bet you'll be trying now on your own car.

Yes, I am sure the vids were quite something - especially as I did kind of go into a slight Mr Bean mode as testing the various reactions.  If the owner was sufficiently enterprising, they will have uploaded to an online video sharing platform.

Mine seems to lose about 7% per 24 hour period with sentry mode. Try and keep it plugged in with a granny cable.

The electric cars with the best real-world range

This article dates back to May but came up in my newsfeed today. Quite surprising results, not what I was expecting.

Yeah im with you, the drainage would have wiped out the wife's leaf battery.

If I turn off sentry I don't notice any drain, but thats the first time since getting the Tesla that I've not driven it for 2 and a half days, so perhaps there is still some drain.

Grumpy, mine definitely doesn't, when it's parked in the drive the kids set it off, and then dance in front of the cameras etc, trust me, if it said anything I'd have heard all about daddies talking car.
    Both plugged in and not.
Perhaps the earlier tm3's had it, or it got scrapped in one of the bi-monthly updates.

NigeWick,  perhaps mine drained more due to the high state of charge? Or perhaps due to the amount of sentry triggers

    That's odd.
    Maybe I mistook an S for a 3, but I don't think so.
    Maybe it's an aftermarket software.
