A lot of motor traders including big motor groups who just do classified ads on eBay don’t have any feedback.

I would still be suspicious. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. I do remember looking at a classified ad on eBay a few years back for a cheap Lotus Elise in Scotland and that turned out to be a scam. If you are offering an online sales option then you need to have some credentials that stand up to scrutiny. Presumably though if you bought by credit card you would have some options for getting your money back.

If I was in the market for a 3 year old Leaf, I would be round there to have a look as it isn’t that far away.

    Very suspicious.
A limited company would normally include their company registration details along with their address etc. The lack of one is not encouraging. Google's mapping of the area isn't very up to date but the postcode takes you to a science park in what's looks like an industrial area undergoing regeneration.

Yeah, I noticed that after closer inspection.
Don't see much about the business name and address online either.
    It is there

But when I 'drove' along  Beevor St with a 2018 version of Google Maps 'Streetview' I couldn't see any sign.  Of course,  business might only have been established last year when the eBay account was launched,

Well worth anyone local doing that in real life but I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone to do complete transaction online as listing offers.

Am I too innocent, or wrong to assume that it's possible they have signed up as a business and hit a Ltd button instead of a ST/Partnership one?

Not to say it is or isn't legit, but I almost did this when filling out a form with a financial provider as certain boxes were pre-filled before seeing the form, and if it hadn't been read, it wouldn't be in the company name but my own t/a.

Edit: Looks like some of the other cars are not taken on the same site and everything looks a little cheap at a glance.

Could not find the company using either Companies House or Endole Websites.
    CLVADS MOTORS LTD

When a user registers as a business seller and puts a business name, do the online auction websites take any steps to verify that the company actually exists?

Could I simply put an business account on an online auction site and say "GRUMPY CHAPS MOTORS LTD" and seemingly create an air of respectability even though the company is entirely fictitious?

Volkswagen continues to shine bright in Europe, leading the sales chart for BEV's, and also the top selling group/alliance for VWG.

Volkswagen Is #1 In Electric Vehicle Sales Across These 10 European Countries

I just published a report on the 30 best selling electric cars and SUVs across 10 European countries. The model races and rankings are always fun, but there’s more to explore and compare than just models. As we all know by now, some companies have focused on a small number of models (sometimes out of necessity), whereas others have been rolling out a larger number of models and spreading the electrons across styles, sizes, and tastes.

    Self explanatory article title:

Market Share Of Electric Vehicles — Changes In 8 Top Countries

To start with, we’re looking at market share of 100% electric vehicles in 7 top countries, but excluding country #1 — Norway — because it’s hard to see the trends in other markets when you include the Norwegian behemoth. You can see that pure-electric vehicle market share grew strongly in Germany and China so far this year; grew a little bit in the UK, Sweden, and France; declined a little bit in Switzerland; and declined drastically in the Netherlands after an enormous peak in 2020 that was superpowered by certain policies.

I thought this article was interesting as it got me thinking and pondering, and the last sentences emphasised this:

All up, we are getting close to the possibility of 6 million.

I know that this is speculation. I am hoping it will create a conversation. Overall, history and statistics are on the side of EVs.

The chart shows the growth of PEVs (BEV's + PHEV's), and acknowledges the anomaly in 2019 of the Chinese changes to subsidies:

    But what has actually happened?
The world reached 1 million plugin vehicle sales in the year 2017 …

[Just a thought, but the growth overall is about 40% pa if we assume that subsidy changes in 2019 shifted some purchases forward to 2018.]

The article goes on to suggest that 6m PEV's may be doable in 2021, which is quite a growth rate, be it price, emissions legislation, subsidies, awareness ...... (I don't know?)

Personally, I think the suggestion of 60% growth YoY may not be possible as PHEV's will most likely start to suffer as BEV costs fall, and PHEV's start to look like a poor compromise, but BEV's won't be able to expand fast enough to meet demand due to battery shortages. My money is still on a reduction in annual purchases as folk start to put off vehicle replacements whilst they wait for BEV production to rise ....... so +60% pa v's a falling overall total?

[Note - Don't take anything I say here too seriously, I'm totally guessing, just enjoying the transition/revolution/disruption.]
