I took one out over 6 years to buy our ex-demo Zoe. Slightly long winded process but worth the effort.
They also provide a further grant of £250 toward a charger on top of the OLEV grant.

Results for Germany, with BEV sales in May at 11.6%. If I'm judging that curve (in the second diagram) correctly, with a growth from around 3% to 12% in 16 months, then they should easily hit 20% BEV's by the end of 2022 even if the transition remains linear. Assuming supply can grow fast enough, of course:
Germany – Plugin EVs About To Blast Past 25% Share Of Auto Market
Europe’s biggest auto market, Germany, saw plugin electric vehicle share hit 23.4% in May, up over 3x from 7.3% in May 2020. Summer always brings a further boost, so from now on 25% and above is inevitable. The overall auto market saw volume of 231,000 still significantly down from pre-Covid 2019’s ~340,000.

On a separate note, is anyone aware of a manufacturer offering a double cab van BEV at the moment, preferably with about 250mi of range? We were aiming for 2030 as a target for vehicle replacement, this has now been brought forward to 2025 (our last fleet vehicle was delivered in April 2020, so will be replaced by late 2024). Closest find is the Vito, but from speaking to a retailer there isn't the option of a double cab version of the Tourer at the moment.
It'll be used for music touring, so requires around a 900kg payload in addition to the above requirements.💙💛 💔1 -

Hi CK, I believe Vauxhall are offering their EV Vivaro as a double cab option although the largest battery currently offered, 75 kWh is good for just over 200 miles so falls short of your requirement on that point, Currently there's a six month wait for delivery.

I've just switched to an Ioniq EV from a diesel Jag, but it's only up to 1900 miles so far, so the 250 is mainly to ensure in the event of battery degradation we can still operate the vehicle for 200k miles over 4-5 years (in normal circumstances). I understand we are specialist users for this type of vehicle, so that's why I asked.💙💛 💔0 -
Couple of articles on BEV buses. Nothing particularly new, but since there were two, and the trend seems to be growing*, I thought it would be remiss of me not to share the good news.
*Actually, trend may be underselling the 'revolution' as the economics, environmental issues, and public pressure, are rapidly driving purchases away from diesels. May only be a few more years before diesel buses simply aren't a viable new purchase option? And then longer range coaches?BYD Scores More Electric Bus Orders & Deliveries In Sweden & Spain
BYD keeps rolling out more and more electric buses, especially in Europe. This week, the news is that it just delivered 30 more electric buses in Spain and got an order for 79 electric buses in Sweden.Madrid’s Electric Bus Entry
The 30 electric buses delivered to the Municipal Transport Company of Madrid, EMT Madrid, follow 15 that were previously delivered to the transport agency.Sweden Goes Big on Electric Buses
This second story comes from Bergkvarabuss, which placed its first electric bus order with the Chinese automaker — and it isn’t a pilot effort, but a very sizable 79 bus order.Other European Electric Bus News
Other recent BYD electric bus orders and deliveries in Europe were in Turin, Italy; Glasgow, Scotland; Germany; Buzău, Romania; and various cities in the Netherlands. BYD also just started selling electric SUVs in Norway.
However, one of the most interesting BYD electric bus stories in recent months (or even just weeks) in that area of the world was in the UK. BYD UK (BYD produces some of its electric buses in the UK) and Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) announced on May 20 that they had produced their 500th electric bus. “The zero emission double decker has joined the fleet of the partnership’s launch customer, Go-Ahead London, as orders for the next 500 BYD ADL electric buses have already been confirmed for public transport operators across the UK,” BYD writes.BYD Aims To “Revolutionize” The Electric School Bus
BYD is rolling out a new Type D electric school bus. The company claims that it has “unparalleled safety features and performance, wrapped in a sleek design that will have students wanting to step onboard.” The design looks very similar to what Blue Bird and GreenPower offer, and I can’t say it’s my favorite (I prefer the traditional look), but it does appear to be the future of school bus design.
Like with its other electric buses, BYD offers various lengths — 35 feet, 38 feet, and 40 feet in this case. The bus can seat up to 84 kids.
