Phone battery dead - help!
My son’s Alba 6 phone battery has died. We ran a diagnostics and the verdict was terminal. It’s still under manufacturer’s warranty but they refuse to replace it because there is a small crack on the screen which they say, could be as a result of the phone being dropped and hence the battery fault.
I have spent 2 hours searching for a replacement battery online but it seems Alba is not a popular brand so no-one stocks replacement batteries, not even eBay.
This is a last resort but does anyone happen to have an old Alba 6 phone that we can take the battery out of? I’m willing to pay.
He can’t afford a new phone. I’ve already bought his Christmas presents so can’t add this to the list. It seems ridiculous to replace a whole phone just for the sake of a battery. Can anyone help?

Could you ask them the part number such that you can order one yourself?0 -
I have the part number and have tried every Chinese manufacturer online but to no avail. It seems I can buy a new Alba 6 but not just the battery. Whilst I’m happy to pay out for a battery I can’t afford £100 for a new phone for him. The situation is looking a bit hopeless 0

seems to a disposable phone........when the battery dies you bin it!0

What a waste eh? Never mind the fact that we can’t just fork out for a brand new phone, but the impact on the environment too. I’m still hoping we can find an old Alba phone for the battery. Perhaps someone has one stashed in a drawer somewhere after they upgraded it?0

Does he need a new phone - would it be more cost effective for him to have a look and see what CEX (or similar) have in stock?
Could you try a post on your local freecycle/freegle/facebook pages for a battery? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Have you tried the Argos tech helpline ? 0345 604 01050

Argos won’t help because of the crack on the screen.
Have searched on all classified pages and on CEX. He paid £100 for it new and that’s more or less what CEX are charging. Even reconditioned phones are expensive it seems. It’s just before Christmas and he simply hasn’t got £100 for a new one. I’ve bought him his presents already so can’t afford to splash out £100 either. We’d settle for a cheap second hand one but the word ‘cheap’ doesn’t seem to figure when it comes to phones.
I really have tried everything.0 -

Ammm...
I assume his present not open yet? Can you take it to refund and get a new phone?
Or get the cheapest contract phone.0
