thank you.can i still write this letter even though POPLA was declined?

Yes. It might discourage them from launching a court claim.

You are joking that you find a scam UKPC letter 'convincing' that you should pay a scam £100, or £160, or even £170, when you simply visited a retail park twice?

Absolutely not a single person here would pay them a penny and you should have complained to the retail park owner/managing agent far earlier. Most retail parks have a website with a contact button...

Of course you do not pay this scam and the letter is far from convincing!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    UKPC are fraudsters read this

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11858473/Parking-firm-UKPC-admits-faking-tickets-to-fine-drivers.html

There are loads of claims for double dipping, here are a few

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5550336/double-dip-parking-list-of-cases

[FONT=Times New Roman, serif]Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP after the election, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Complain to the BPA and DVLA that this was two separate visits, a double dip, so the scammers have unlawfully obtained the keeper's data from the DVLA.

As already mentioned, the UK Government has banned the use of ANPR scameras because they are not fit for purpose. Parking scammers are unregulated so use the flaws generated to rake in millions of pounds per year.

It is a scam. Scammers tell lies. A little research would have shown you that UKPC were caught doctoring time stamps on their photo' "evidence" last year.

Make the complaints as above. After the election, complain to your MP. If you get stopped by a prospective candidate before then, ask what they intend to do about the unregulated parking scam. Their decision could influence your vote. ;)

Send an SAR to the scammers as per the NEWBIES telling them since this was a double dip you require them to show you all four images of your car. If they don't supply four, complain to the ICO.

Ignore debt collectors. Post 4 of the NEWBIES tells you why it is safe to do so.

Come back here if you get real court papers.

    Thank you all..,

i have just written the template letter from Half_way and will post it today.

i just phoned homebase to complain but they say they can't do anything about it.., i asked for the landlord's details, they couldn't find it but said that the landlord would only refer me back to UKPC anyway! and i would have to deal with them.

not sure if i can name the retail park on here??

    @ Mods
can you keep this thread open so i can update if i get a reply from UKPC

    thank you.

Name the retail park, but don't they have a website with a 'contact us' button?

thank you everybody! Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

i managed to get the parking charge cancelled!

UKPC did write me a letter to counter the template which Half_way gave me but i persisted with the double dip scam.

i will post the letter that UKPC sent me so you guys can study it.

the sad thing is, i don't go to that retail park anymore and use my local DIY centre rather than Homebase.

Good news. Suggest you write to the CEO of Homebase explaining what happened and that you will not be shopping with them again because of their scammer UKPC
