I would normally agree with you but in this situation the OP is asking about opening an account with a bank when he has a CIFAS.
But he hasn't got a CIFAS yet. He is just expecting to get one!

Anyway, NO BANK will open an account for you.

You are nothing but a money launder.

Cool bro, I am a money launder, thanks for helpful answer.
As I can see this forum is a joke and 90% of the users here are ready to judge only and attach names.

Once is bad luck, twice, well you said it.

Think you are looking at savings accounts. Or at best a Basic bank account that will be watched like a hawk.
    Life in the slow lane

Olofmeister - people give up their time freely here to help others - when you finish your studies and grow up, you are going to find that attitude you have, will become a problem.
Just remember you have a lot more to worry about than just not having a bank account, some careers need you to clear a credit search - this could potentially ruin your life for the next 6 years!

It didn't happen twice my friend ;p
This thread is kinda linked to the one I made yesterday.
Listen, I am not a bad person or somebody that wants to cheat the system or whatever.
Its not my fault that my brother is braindead and he involved me in his stupidity of scamming people by sending me money that he scammed. My fault is that I trusted him true but its family...
I don't know what I am gonna do, I have studies on my mind and this came out of nowhere, I hope Barclays will listen to my side of the story and atleast not put me on cat 6 on this CIFAS marker. Peace

I just got tired and upset, I came here to find out if there is any hope that I won't get the worst outcome, what I've got is bunch of assumptions, judges that straight away knows what the outcome will be, and some even thinks I conduct a crime.

You did commit a crime (unwittingly or not) - you laundered the proceeds of crime through your account by receiving it and then withdrawing it. The act of withdrawing it is the problem as you are effectively acknowledging that the money is yours when it's not.

Well, your right. But I ain't fairy to know that this money was coming from scam ;p I can't blame myself.
All blame should go towards my brother and he should get all the penalties. He already got chargeback on his paypal. Maybe when I will tell them my side of the story they will start look at him. Not sure why they yet didn't.

Only if they have reason to run a CIFAS check. Once you've opened one (or two with separate banks), don't apply for anything else with that bank (including others in the same banking group) until you are sure you're not on CIFAS (and definitely don't if you know that you are!).

Send a subject access request to CIFAS.

As far as I'm aware' much like CRA feeds, banks receive a regular feed from CIFAS.

There are certainly many stories on this forum confirming that once an a CIFAS marker is applied it's just a matter of time before all the posters banking facilities are removed.

If you have a bank account already they will not close it down if you get a CIFAS marker. But you must not apply for any credit or make any applications for that banking group

Also there are many alternatives, pre paid bank accounts do no credit check, i.e cash plus and many more
