Opening a Bank Account with a CIFAS marker?

So my account has been under review for almost a month.
I have received a small amount of money from member of my family, which I afterwards learned was coming from scamming some person on the internet.
Nevertheless, the money was scammed and send to my account.

So I am pretty sure I will get my account closed and CIFAs market put on my name.
I am studying at Uni, and receiving student finance every 3 months. Next payment is early January and I need bank account on my name to receive finances.
I've seen opening a normal bank account is impossible with Cifas marker, what are the alternatives?

I don't think its wise, I read that people has done that and got their account closed anyway because the bank where they open brand new account has received message that the person got CIFAS marker.

Only if they have reason to run a CIFAS check. Once you've opened one (or two with separate banks), don't apply for anything else with that bank (including others in the same banking group) until you are sure you're not on CIFAS (and definitely don't if you know that you are!).

Send a subject access request to CIFAS.
  • if you open one and then get a marker they can still withold any money in it.and its a major job that you have to prove then to get any axcess to any monies.your priority should be to get things sorted before getting a marker against you

I don't think I can do much about it, and CIFAS marker is almost a guarantee for me?
I can't argue with Barclays if they decide to put marker on my name as the evidence is pretty clear and obvious even tho I didnt knew that the money is coming from a scam.
Someone posted my original thread about this situation above.

Yes. One thread at a time is sufficient. Multiple threads confuse and are unnecessary.

I would normally agree with you but in this situation the OP is asking about opening an account with a bank when he has a CIFAS.
