DoaM you broke it as though you were the broker, didn't realise there was someone from Carole Nash on the Forum, so why would I thank you when your doing their job.
AdrianC no it's not a lousy excuse, some peole have a life and don't live with their phones glued to their hands, & it's why people are still given the OPTION if they want to go paperless, unless you sign up with a purely on-line company from the start, which he didn't. If your just willing to roll over and except whats imposed on you guess that's your choice....but then again it really isn't, is it.0 -

Personally, I think it's entirely reasonable to assume that, since the customer has given an email address (and, presumably, given permission to be contacted by email), to contact them via that email address. Most customers in this day and age find dealing with communication via email easier and more convenient than post or phone. If your OH is one of those who don't, then that's fine... Just don't give an email address.0 -
OP, may I respectfully suggest you moderate your tone somewhat. You came on here asking for advice, which several long-standing and respected members have attempted to do. Yet you seem unable or unwilling to listen.
Please remember, nobody on here is paid - we all do our best to help others in our spare time, and simply aim to pass on knowledge that has been gained by experience. If it's professional legal advice you're looking for then you need to be prepared to seek out a suitably-qualified professional and pay for their services.0 -
Indeed. Yet another example of someone asking for help, then having a strop when they don’t get the answers they want to get.0

Ebe Scrooge my tone has been immaculate, if not please feel free to report me to admin, & I see no evidence of help or knowledge passed on through experience, I also appreciate that no one on here is paid, but I was interested to see if anyone else had gone through something similar & what was the result. Instead all I see is criticism, sarcasm and condesention, which all seems to culminate in a 'bend over and let' em shaft you and enjoy it' attitude. But your quite right I'm not about to get any useful advice when people are to lazy to read the post, or post in a way designed to be confrontational. Apologies I'm a newbie and don't subscribe to the aforementioned attitude such experienced members seem willing to accept, so I will take my problems elsewhere.Ebe Scrooge my tone has been immaculate, if not please feel free to report me to admin, & I see no evidence of help or knowledge passed on through experience, I also appreciate that no one on here is paid, but I was interested to see if anyone else had gone through something similar & what was the result. It's not "laziness" to be reluctant to read posts where absolutely no thought has gone into readability.
Sometimes, a little personal responsibility has to be accepted.
Your OH gave the insurer his email address.
They emailed him.
He spent a day short of four working weeks wondering where the paperwork was, but never once thought to check his email during that time - despite taking the time to phone them during that time.0 -
You can turn the whole thing on it's head.
My post gets delivered to a box at the end of my drive.
I actually prefer, wherever possible to get communications by email.
How far do you think I would get if I said I hadn't had a letter because it was delivered by post, I'd told the sender I preferred email, and I hadn't bothered to check my post box for some time, because it's "snail mail"?0 -
As Quentin usually posts: "Whenever you are not happy with your insurance company the route to go down is a complaint in line with their complaints procedure.
Then if you are not happy with the reply or they ignore you for 8 weeks you can escalate to the FOS for their adjudication at no cost to you."
FWIW I never give insurance companies etc my email address, otherwise I'd need to keep checking it for important documents.0 -
What bike has he got?0
