Hello!
I hope I have done everything required after reading the sticky threads. As advised for ParkingEye I have emailed enforcement after receiving an LBCCC.
I have also requested an SAR via their website privacy section and have contacted The Range directly via email and am on the phone to their customer service right now (14 minutes on hold and counting...!) to follow up and make sure that they have received the email.
The 30 days from the date of the letter will be up on Monday 18th November, is sending all this info via recorded delivery also a good idea as the ParkingEye response email says there may be a 10 day delay in their response. I am thinking that this is their responsibility now not mine as I have now abided by the 30 day response request?
I'll keep the thread up to date with what happens!

I do not believe recorded delivery exists anymore, but it is not a good idea to send anything "signed for" where scammers are concerned.
I hope the keeper included proof of ID with the SAR such as a copy of the V5.
Complaints should go to the store manager/CEO, not customer services.
Also complain to your MP or whoever is standing for election. Tell them your vote and that of your family members will depend on their response to this unregulated scam.
Have you told the scammers you deny the debt but are seeking debt advice so they are required to put proceedings on hold for one month while you deal with this? Use the words in bold if not.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
If you send anything by recorded/signed for and the recipient refuses delivery they have proof of non-delivery, not what you want. Just get a FREE certificate of posting and keep it safe.0

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP after the election, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Thank you all for your quick responses! The lady over the telephone was very helpful and seemed to think it will be cancelled as we made purchase in store, but the contact form they directed me to fill in wouldn't recognise that I had filled in the "additional details" field of the form (therefore making it impossible to submit said form).
They gave me help AT therange to email so I have done that instead and will try to get the store manager's details also.
Phew. Feel so much better that at least now my fight has begun. Can't believe how quickly they are turfing these letters out, clearly mechanised and automated now. GRRRR makes me so cross! Roll on further legislation! There HAS to be a reasonable clause at least - if every store followed the purchase rule/enter registration number as a bare minimum we would be making headway. Or only in stores with XXX number of parking spaces.
Anywhoo...I shall keep battling! Thank you for your support! :-)0 -
Morning all!
Great news! The kindly customer care advisors at The Range received confirmation thst my parking charge has now been cancelled as of December 6th.
I explained in detail my story and made sure I was extra polite and offered to give the advisors helping me a positive feedback on TrustPilot, which I have duly supplied!
Thank you so much for all the detailed information on these forums, it is so shocking that this company is happy to bully people with threatening letters and court cases!
My only advice in addition to all the great info on this forum is to make sure you are super polite to The Range guys, it seems as though they don't like the risk of losing customers due to these charges, and I really think adding a personal real life touch to your story helps. Were you purchasing sonething for a relative? Have you had a bad year? Tell them! And make sure you send any receipt with your correspondence.
I began by calling their customer careline, they then took details and sent me to an online form to complete, with regards to parking, on their website, and I also asked for an email address to forward my statement to as well..a wise move as it turned out - the online form would not recognise my submission!
A few days later a service rep emailed me a response and two reps then conversed with ParkingEye and were able to "nullify" the charge.
Best of luck to anyone else who gets stung by these bully boys, stay calm, write a description of your day's events when the charge occurred, be kind, and they will help you! :-)0 -
Nice to hear of your positive and successful experience. It's not been a feature of previous The Range/PE cases over the years, in fact, quite the opposite.
You will need written confirmation from PE that the charge is now cancelled - they are quite efficient at doing this, around 7-10 days. Meantime, you could access the PE website's 'Pay My Parking Charge' (or whatever they call it), to check the current status of the PCN.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The Range have, in the past, tended to take the side of the scammer, perhaps they have realised that scammers and profits are not good bedfellows. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

This is good to know, that the Range have FINALLY realised the customer is King and ParkingEye are just the tail wagging when they tell it to.
So the advice is to ring the Range Customer Careline and be polite and persistent.
We've also told people for ages (and it is in the sticky) that ParkingEye are different and do have the one redeeming feature that LBCCC stage IS a stage where they will cancel and even consider an appeal/issue POPLA codes, and basically start again. This is one example of that working.
Well done!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hello again!
Thank you for all your kind words of support, yes, confirmation by email received today from ParkingEye that the fine is now cancelled.
I think appealing to the human side of these companies, when you are dealing with Customer Service agents, is always going to be the best policy.
I did also lay it on thick as I had driven my heavily pregnant friend to The Range for products, and I emphasised I am a customer at a number of other Range stores and named them and explained I hadn't ever had a problem before...
Best of luck to everyone, I really hope anyone else in the same boat gets good news soon/in the New Year :-)0
