Currently sitting at £55,772. Made a £250 overpayment this month. Isolation really does help money saving! Looking back at my diary late February, early March, who would have thought we'd be where we are now. Crazy world, crazy times. Just hunkering down at home. Kids not been out for 3 weeks now bless them. But they're fine. My work is ridiculously busy,  we'll I'd say drowning, is a better descriptive. The impact coronavirus has been pretty major,  but we're all in the same boat one way or another. stay safe all.

A saving accounts interest rate recently went from 3% pa, to 1%. So, have now just transferred £4k from it to the mortgage,  yay! Mortgage now sitting at £50,602. Still got about £360 left of my 10% OP amount I can make. Will pay that next month now. Cannot believe by 1st June I will be sub £50k!! Me and the husband are obsessed about chatting, dreaming and planning what life will be like once that final payment is made. Still saving quite a bit if money during lockdown. Quite enjoy the quiet life. Until the next payment. Stay safe all. x

Just read your diary Mrs Lovely, you are doing so well. I'm almost out of the 80k and into the 70k, the next milestone and I can't wait to get there. It's so close and yet it's probably still 3 months off when the interest is factored in.

Anyway, I will be reading your diary and cheering you on. I know what you mean about working life, it is a grind even though I enjoy my job. Best of luck on your MF journey.

Thanks longwaytogo. Work is not so stressful, but covid-19 has sent workload stratospheric as I work in the Health/Social care sector.  But it's ok. Getting the Sunday mild build up to the working week ahead, but it's ok. Much better in my newish job, than my last job. And yes, 2nd June I will be at sub £50k!! Amazing feeling, and have 22 payments to go!! May be this is a cheat, but in Feb 2022 my husband is going to be 55 (I'm a bit younger! 🤗), so can take some pension out. So the more we pay now, the less we have to take out of his pension, so I think that'll be about £15k to take out by then. Thanks for taking the time to read my post longwaytogo. xx

I like that, a little secret club. Never thought of it that way

It is so easy to become obsessed with, almost like an addiction. Mustn't forget to live in 'the now' though.

Great progress! My OH doesn’t know about my diary or this forum... he often asks what I’m doing on my phone.. good job he trusts me 🤣
Thanks Thicknthin. My husband knows I read all about others on their mortgage free journey and I do share with him any pearls of wisdom I get from here. Whether once it's paid off I'll allow him to read it I don't know!!
Money mgt and personal finances are very private, so its just a real buzz to talk/read about it on here! If I didn't I think I would go a little stir crazy!
