Can you get the Home Hub set-up pages if you enter 192.168.1.254 into your browser from this laptop?
What happens if you enter 216.239.51.99 into the browser?
I'll try those now, just wondering why am I trying to access Home Hub set up pages, as I'm using a D-Link DSL-G624T wireless router

Apologies, the first address should be that of your router e.g. 192.168.0.1:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Ok so I think this may be important.
I put the modem's installation cd back into the laptop and thought I'd try re-install it.
When it goes to check the physical connectivity it says the modem cannot be detected ( Although all lights are showing on the modem, and the ethernet cable is definately connected), after checking these 2 things it mentions a network card, now I have no idea what that is?0 -

Has this laptop got wireless capability? You don't need to use the routers set-up CD in the laptop, the router is already set-up and working. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Yeah definately has wireless as Dad uses it at hotels and his workplace.
I thought if I installed the modem with the ethernet cable connected first it may work and then try it wireless. It doesnt work with either at the moment
God I know this is frustrating, but I really want to get this to bloody work lol
