Not sure how to post a new thread as i cannot seem to find this option.
Will the Cheap Energy Club be back up again soon as it is down at the moment? I tried using it last night and again this morning.
Thanks

Hi All

With the lack of any good dual fuel deals available, I have looked at separate suppliers and my research has led me down to:
Gas: Scottish Power - I should end up paying the same as this year
Elec: Robin Hood - projected to be £50 more expensive, but has no exit fee so option to switch if a better deal comes along.
Has anyone got any good or bad experiences with any of these suppliers?
I will be looking to switch through the Cheap Energy Club. Would I be better going through a cashback site?

FG

If you switch to Iresa, it will take at least 30 days from application for the transfer to go through.
When you move into your new property, you will be on a Deemed Contract with the existing supplier. You need to contact that supplier as soon as you move in and provide them with your details and meter readings. You are then free to initiate a switch to another supplier. The Deemed Supplier will charge you for all energy used up to the date of the transfer of supply This is usually at its standard variable rate unless you agree to a tariff change. There is, of course, no guarantee that Iresa Flex 4 will still be on the market tomorrow - never mind in 3 weeks time. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I too am on the BG collective fix ending 28th Feb. Although Iresa came up cheapest, I thouhgt I'd try another of the small companies, so contacted Affect at the beginning of the month. I got a welcome pack through that said theywould make the switch on 17th February. Efficient, but I'd lose a couple of weeks worth of cheaper energy from the collective fix, so I rang them to ask if it could be delayed. Got straight through (no multiple-choice robotic switchboard) to a very personable young lady (Kim) who explained that they automatically switched 17 days after receiving a request, but that they would put my application on hold and could I email them mid-february to confirm. I did so, and within a couple of hours Kim herself rang back to confirm the direct debit.
I sent her an email to confirm, and added that so far I was pleasantly surprised with their personal touch, and that it was refreshing to be treated like a person rather than an account number. She replied a few minutes later with the following:
"Dear Pete,
I’m just about to resend your Welcome Pack with all the new details – any problems you know where I am.

Thank you for your kind words, it’s nice having the opportunity to speak to the same customer more than once, working for the big 6 it rarely ever happened, I think that’s what makes such a difference. I guess that’s why are ratings are doing so well on Martin Lewis too!"
If they can maintain this level of customer service, I reckon they'll become the 'first direct' of energy companies, and good luck to them.:T0 -

I don't wish to rain on your parade but has the supplier put it in writing that they will honour the tariff offer come what may? I ask because tariffs are changing daily, and if you have nothing in writing yo might have an argument on your hands if the supplier ups its prices. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi all, I am already with SP and have just renewed for another fixed rate till 2018, only costing me an extra £5 a month! Really happy with SP over the last 12 months, and particularly in that they offered me the deal instead of automatically putting me on their standard tariff! I like their customer webpage too where they give all the info you need on changing said tariffs plus you get a handy fuel usage chart so you can see how much fuel used or saved! Recommended by me as a good un! :T0

Coming to the end of my Southern Electric contract. Iresa are the cheapest but will be going with Scottish Power..... fractionally more expensive, but won't be losing the recently installed Smart Meter.
Still good at £510pa less £30 cashback and being aged over 80 ...minus £300 Winter Fuel Allowance.
AND with the smart meter nagging away, hopefully further savings.0 -

It is very unlikely that your Smart Meter will work as a Smart meter if you switch company. See all the other discussions on here about Smart Meters and how they no longer work Smart, but become dumb if you switch supplier (apart from between a few companies).0
