Did you try resetting the Store app?
Sorry, no, not yet - this is really an issue with my brother's PC but it replicates on mine!
He is coming later with laptop, so we will see ...
EDIT - just ran the wsreset.exe which runs and then says "you'll need a new app to open this ms-windows-store link" but there are no apps offered just an 'always use' tick box and a greyed out OK button.debitcardmayhem wrote: »Type in search gets this .....0 -
Smug answer , I am on Linux as usual and can't access my Windows pc
Nothing at all here to be smug about, just a waste of a post!
OP, can your kid open 'Microsoft Store' in the Start Menu? This is where you download apps from, rather than via the browser. Make sure the Microsoft Store app is up to date, you're logged in properly, and for good measure, that Windows is up to date too.
It seems from post #5 that Windows 10 is unable to open the Microsoft Store. What's the difference between an App and Program?
Same thing really, except that programs are these days referring to programs/applications that you can just download from the web, run the installer etc. Apps tends to refer to applications/programs that are downloaded from a 'Store' - Apple's App Store, Google's Play Store, MS's Microsoft Store. They come with the advantage/disadvantage of being controlled centrally and optionally automatically updated.0 -

Our kid came and we found the app that he had downloaded and away to goEveryWhere wrote: »No Microsoft Store?
Which version of Windows have you installed?
Type About your PC in the Start Menu
Information under Windows Specifications.
No Microsoft Store (that I can find)
I have W10 Home(1903) 64 bit
"About your pc" doesn't yield any answers in my search box above the start button - maybe a Classic Shell issue?0 -

Odd. Cannot replicate it here.
https://troubleshooter.xyz/wiki/fix-windows-store-missing-in-windows-10/ I guess you can just work your way through these.0 -

As I've never used an 'app' on W10, I may just leave this one in the 'ain't broke' folder and revisit if needed.0
