I hope your OH is on the mend now CLF.
I've been away for a few days, and allowed myself a 'day off at home' yesterday. So, back to it today!!
I need to bottom out the attic rooms, now that the lodger has moved on. He did give it a clean before he left, but I'm old enough and wise enough not to rely on that!! All the bedding etc has been washed, and I'll iron it before I put it away so it's ready for the next one. I'm already back on SpareRoom.com, but I don't think I'll realistically get anyone before Christmas now.
I'm volunteering today and tomorrow - the House is closed for the winter now, but we run guided tours on weekends in November to show people the conservation work that happens at this time of year. I'll be taking tours round the house from 10am to 2.30pm.
I've decided to monetize my blog - I've been writing it for six months now, and it seems to be the sensible next move. There'll just be one ad, down at the bottom, so hopefully it won't impinge too much on the look and feel of the page. And hopefully I'll get a bit of income from it. There's only one way to find out!!
And I'm Out tonight!! The gym that I've been going to for the last 18 months is celebrating its 2nd anniversary with a few drinks at a local bar. A nice excuse to put some lippy on!! I'll only have one drink, but I'll make it last!!
Keep warm and dry people! xxNo longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
Morning folks!
Thanks trailingspouse - he did gig last night so he's still in bed this morning. He does feel a bit perkier. If it's the same bug I had, he should be a bit brighter from today.
I had rather a good day yesterday. I'd say it's the most I've done, and the most I've felt like myself since the beginning of September! I manged to walk to and from the docs, to and from the shop (not enough eggs), dismantle the greenhouse, make the Christmas cakes and make the allotment sign! Clf is back beeatches!
Still, mustn't overdo it. Not planning on quite as much today!

Today madam is going for a sleepover at dd's. This is the first time so a big event for us. Dropping her off at 2.

Afternoon all

Had DD2 plus kids round this morning, so only limited accomplishments were possible :rotfl:
Before they came I managed to:
Wrap an ebay parcel
List one more item
Wash up / clean up kitchen
GD and I walked to the corner shop, to drop off the parcel containing a coat for a homelessness appeal, and to the vet's for worm and flea tablets for the dog - no additional cost as it is covered by the montly Pet Club plan I pay into.
I also managed to feed everyone, as usual - last night's leftover risotto for DD, OH and myself, crackers and cheese for GD and pasta, tomato sauce and a boiled egg for GS (strange mixture but he has allergies to some foods and he likes this). They have now gone off to a party, I have tidied up all the toys and craft stuff and enjoying the peace and quiet!
I need to get the hoover out in a minute though!
Dinner will be chicken and chorizo stew from the freezer
Would have been a NSD, but GD asked for a 'magazine' in the corner shop :rotfl:0 -
Haven't had chance to get on-an overload of paperwork and deadlines just took over my life.
But hopefully everything will run smoothly now but at some points it got very stressful
CLF I hope OH is beginning to feel better. We have a stomach bug doing the rounds here, it's not pleasant. I hope u r doing better as well, judging by us last post u sound as if u r doing better with everything achieved
DNMS even when I can't post I try to read along, great to see u posting again, hope things settle with the new meds.
1LL I hope u r doing better with ur back. It still sounds painful
Besides paperwork I haven't done much
Banking all checked, everything good.
Haven't checked quidco-must do this.
Shopped last night while out anyway, stocked up on cat food on a special offer and used a £3 off voucher. Frustratingly for a big store they had no cat litter so still need to go out today.
Will drop cat food donation off aswell
When I wasn't doing paperwork i was mastering the art of folding a fitted sheet:) Had to get utube up everytime I wanted to fold a sheet in the past as i just couldn't 'get it 'but with a catch up of washing including lots of sheets I was determined to crack it. Only took me viewing utube about 10 times but managed to do a sheet on my own the other day. Felt very proud
Hunted out the expensive bought cheap:D 'c' cards. I have special cards I picked up in the sales but had missed the odd person. I bought some what would have been very expensive cards ( which in my opinion I definitely would not have paid full price for and very overpackaged:() in the sales to fill in the gaps but could I find them.
In the end I ended up crawling under the bed to find them, not great after abdominal surgery still with an open line in :eek:but I found the cards and just pleased I was able to crawl under the bed, couple of months ago I couldn't have done that:j
So far one card written!
Dcousin had his baby last week. Had a couple of bits in. Ordered some bits from Marks as they had 20% off and free postage. A couple of items need to go back but have enough to send a nice present using the RM survey stamps and the items I have had to reorder-still with the discounts on them will be used for Christmas.
That's about it from me. Aim for today to do some more ironing and get the cat litter.
Have a great day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning all,
HK, I'm much better thank you. It sounds like you've been really busy ! (I'm going to hunt for the utube videos now!)
Dnms, I hope you had a good night at the comedy show, we were at one last night too and spending a couple of hours laughing is definitely good for us!
We had a busy day yesterday so I didn't get chance to check in.
We set up the new to ds keyboard, he is thrilled with it and its brilliant to get him started. We found an app for my phone for him to start to learn (although he really likes the sound effects buttons the most at the minute! )
We went to the local retail park for ds1 to look at a gaming keyboard, he'd seen it online but thought it was too cheap to be any good. He was able to look at it and decided that that actually he thought it was a big improvement on the one he has (two keys not working properly despite taking it apart and and cleaning etc) so he bought it and chose to pay £5 extra for a 3yr immediate replacement policy. I was pleased with the way he had saved for it, researched online, asked if he could go and look at it, made his choice and is ultimately very happy with his purchase.
We've had a complete change of thinking with ds2s xmas gift, we've spoken to ds2 about it and is more then happy with the new plan and understands that this is a joint xmas/birthday gift now. I've been feeling conflicted about the gift we'd originally planned as I felt it was definitely something that would be used for a year or so and then we'd be having to buy what we are now going to buy. This is a much longer term computer suitable for school work/gaming etc Over the years we must have spent a small fortune on gifts that they've then grown out of, this is something that will last.
My heated airer has arrived, so I'm going to put a wash on now! Back in a bit
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Afternoon folks!
Came over a bit wan yesterday lunchtime so perhaps I did a bit too much on Friday. Still feeling tired today. I'm back in work but at least there's not much to be on my feet for. Still - I very much enjoyed myself on Friday
Thanks to everyone who asked after OH, he's feeling much brighter.
Today's mission:
:heartpuls B/D from stores
:heartpuls OH has said that he's going to do the shopping! - done
:heartpuls Wash some of the pots - mustn't overdo it. - done
:heartpuls Walked to work - done
:heartpuls Check PMP
Not much today. An early night for me I think!
Have a good one all
