Hi, They have not added anything further, still £160 as per the Zenith letters. They are quoting the Beavis v Parking Eye Ltd case and saying that unless we pay within 14 days UKPC may take steps towards legal proceedings against us by way of a Letter of Claim. They add that this letter is not a letter of claim and that in event of legal proceeding the amount will increase to reflect any court fees etc.

It's Zenith who have added the fake £60 and that will pass to SCSLaw who will continue the scam so expect it.

Court costs are set. They forget to tell you that if/when they lose, you can claim up to £95+ in costs.

If they have said you owe £160, write to them and request on what legal authority do they have to claim this amount which is contrary to POFA2012.
You need to put SCSLaw right on the Beavis case. The supreme court ruled in .... 198. ''...The charge has to be and is set at a level which enables the managers to recover the costs of operating the scheme...''

IE: The parking ticket INCLUDES all costs of recovery

Thanks very much for your advice so far. As per previous thread I have and you had a feeling my son was in the wrong but he did not appeal. So taking your comments in previous thread into account I don't think I will be able to claim anything.
If they proceed will there be a stage that, if necessary, we can pay the fine without all the legal costs etc. added. The original fine from UKPC was for £100 but the scammers have added £60 thus far.

The only extra right now is the fake £60, there are no other costs.
As said, ask them on what legal authority they have to add the £60
That tells them you are aware of Abuse of process and it would be dangerous for them to go further

    ABUSE OF PROCESS

...what stage should, if at all, the fine be paid??
When a County Court Judge tells you that you should pay.

Until then, there is no debt - just an allegation.

Oh... and there is no fine... never was. Just a speculative invoice.

    Email.

And of course with the name of the person getting the letters (not 'names').

Why on earth are you thinking about paying? No-one pays unless they lose in court!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
