Can a survey pick up damp in the summer?

I'm going to bow out.
There's lots of things you can do. Go back through this thread and make a list of them.
I'm not entirely convinced that you're taking it on board. We're going round in circles a bit

I am taking it on board I just feel like there are a few issues and with me unable to quote people it’s hard to keep track.
What’s going to bow out - the ceiling?
The trouble is getting people to actually come out. I’ve got one guy who suggested pointing at the top of the house and on the side, I asked him to do the work, no reply.
I’m also waiting for the heritage people to reply to me, but I think my house isn’t that old/I’m poor.0 -
Being covered in masonry does not help. I've just finished a job that had some damp issues caused by a poor guttering and made worse by paint and cement pointing/parging. You can see the staining in the corner where the water overflowed. That area was extremely damp, even in the summer.
After the paint was removed and repointed in lime mortar the owner said that the damp smell has disappeared, even through it's rained a lot recently.

See the yellow "speech bubble" looking thing ?
Click on it, and the post will be quoted in your reply.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

That'll be down to your browser setup. It just works on a quick click, in the same tab, here.0

If you have an angle grinder a slit at the door would divert water away, Or just silicone the cill to the slab.0

Hi,
So there have been some developments.
I had some Ikea cushions (in plastic) next to the other side of the chimney. They were next to the wall and to my horror when I moved the cushions the wall was damp (just at the corner). It has dried out over the course of the day. Moreover the damp wall seems to have started to dry out! It’s been raining here today, I can’t remember the weather over the past few days, but I did have a handyman/rip off merchant put some Acrypol on my flashing (yes don’t mention it). Perhaps the leak is being fixed?
I also bought a dehumidifier and that appears to have accelerated the drying of the wall?0
