Are you familiar with the term 'Friend zone', as in 'It looks like she may be friend zoning you'? ie, she does like you but only as a friend, which basically translates to she doesn't fancy you but doesn't want to tell you straight in case she hurts your feelings.

Sounds as though she meant to be friendly in a work colleague kind of way.

Not responding at "night" suggests to me that she has a life away from work which includes other people (possibly a boyfriend) which she doesn't want to share with you.

There will be other good people for you to meet.
But hopefully not 'chase' or 'pursue'.
The wording that the OP has used may be innocent but I find both terms disturbing.

"Chase" was in common use by adults when I was a child in London to describe one person showing a romantic interest, flirting etc with another.

The word was used in a metaphorical sense, not a literal one.

    OK.
So how long ago was it when you were a child in London?

Did you 'chase' any person who you were interested in?

And do you think 'chase' and 'pursue' are appropriate terms in this day and age?

Oh come on ... who is hounding who now? .... I think it is very clear the intentions were not sinister

    Not to me.
    I will reiterate:

Reference to 'chasing' and 'pursuing' her are very wrong.
It may be the OP's style of wording.
    But I don't know that.
    And neither do you.
I would not like to think anyone thinks it appropriate to 'chase' or 'pursue' anyone simply because they don't reply to texts.
And I'm not the only poster to think that:

Not sure where your from but chasing a girl is frowned upon in my book.

    Do you?

If you've ever fallen victim to a creeper who just doesn't understand "no", then I think you would not make that assumption.

Reads sinister to me. Who badgers coworkers with texts at home?

Out of interest, HOW are you messaging her?

Is it via Facebook etc, or via text to her mobile.
Are you "friends" on FB, and if text, how did you get her number?
    Just through a social software:D
