Thanks guys! I agree Cathybird - little extras don't count as groceries so I'd declare them but wasn't sure about the lemsip!
I do usually have bits and bobs of medication in (usually purchased with grocery shop) but the kids cleared me out when they went to uni and as I've not needed anything since then I had just 2 ibuprofen kicking around in my handbag! Fortunately tissues were bought with the main shop! Must be organised and prepare for winter sniffles!Mortgage: £81,154.58 (03/19) - £54,849 (02/24)0 -
I made it to 5

Groceries is kind of an interesting one as I think it depends how you shop. I have a strictly planned shop to buy regular items, which I technically exclude, but then it also tends to fall on a day when I have other spends, so it's not usually an NSD for me anyway. However if I buy any food over and above this (treats, like random chocolate, or if I decide to make something I don't normally make and go out and buy the ingredients) then it does count. What do people think? ... Food is a big challenge for a lot of people so it's an important category of spending, it seems to me.
I do count groceries as a spend day - the challenge of not spending money means I am more likely to use up things in the cupboard instead so it's handy to keep me on track.
The only thing I don't include are things that have been planned in advance, like visiting friends or family, where I've already put money aside/ booked tickets ahead of time.
Today is a NSD so I am on 5/15Save £12k in 2022 = £3705.97/ £7,500 (49%)

I'm counting groceries as spends for this challenge. Im wanting to use up the freezer and pantry as they were beyond ridiculous.Stop Buying **** We Don't Need0 -

I do understand this and it makes a lot of logical sense, especially if the intention is to use up things that have already been bought!0 -
I count groceries as a spend, even yellow stickered reduced items. Food shopping is my weakness and by including it in a NSD means I try and limit what I buy. I’m pleased to report my freezer is gradually less full to bursting and I can see what’s in there!
I’m still on 8 NSDs, bought a dress off eBay that I’ve paid for today.0 -
Another NSD for me making 5/12

Hello all
Know it’s late but would like to join- aiming for 10 between now and the end of November! 😬. I’ve recently started mat leave so this will hopefully motivate me to stop spending! I’ve also (almost) bought all my Christmas pressies but I always get sucked in around this time of year to buy more so hoping it will help with that too!!!0
