Bailiff claimed my car - help

Yep we understand that and don't disagree about the payment plan, per se.
But the bailiff visit may have added costs that are over and above what they are allowed to add, and Sheila will check and expose it if that's the case.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just dropped Herbie21 a PM.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I have sent an enquiry on to that website mentioned above, I've not heard any more from anybody... yet
The amount he wanted me to pay was £280 something. He said he was adding money to the final cost for the clamp, he mentioned £150 now the total debt is nearly £400
Surely if he illegally clamped the car I shouldn't be expected to pay that charge? I'm not sure.0 -
Yes, Sheila's the expert on bailiff law. It does sound like he was making stuff up

Thank you.
I'm waiting to here back but understand they are busy
He didn't give me any paperwork, only the immobilisation sticker on the car. So I need to call and find out the cost before and after the clamp was placed on the car.
Should be have also given me come kind of inventory to sign? Control of goods or something the CAB mentioned. He didn't give me or ask me to sign anything.
Thank you for your time0 -
Ok so when he arrived he wanted £282, it's now £392 as they added £110 as it's moved to the sale of goods stage the receptionist said.
I explained that he said he was adding on a charge as he was clamping the vehicle. She said that's untrue as we don't charge for clamping. Like she knows. His camera was turned off half the time0 -
But he has not removed goods so the £110 charge does not applyStressedMrsm wrote: »Ok so when he arrived he wanted £282, it's now £392 as they added £110 as it's moved to the sale of goods stage the receptionist said.0 -
Ok, so no reason for this money to have been added? I'm really not sure what my next step is then, as she was really shirty on the phone, and I feel like I need to question everything they say, I've tried to make a formal complaint but they don't even have a website 😮0

You might want to help yourself by asking for the BodyCam footage under a Subject Access Request to verify this. Do this quickly as they may claim to wipe it after a short period of time. The footage is personal information

You might also want to raise a complaint with the bailiff company to get it on record. There is a lot of activity around the issue of bringing bailiffs within scrutiny but that does not avoid the issue of paying for a debt/penalty that has occured.
This thread should really be in the debt section as we may have come across the bailiff company beforeUnlike some here, I am not omniscient. If I am wrong correct me. I won't take offence.
