Went on the little bus to order repeat medicines (they no longer let you do it over the phone). It will be ready tomorrow so another spendy day. The bus driver wouldn't let me pay, just told me to sit down. It happened quite a lot prior to and just after my hip operation because I was obviously in greater need than all the pensioners and disabled folk who had passes. I am frequently the only person on that bus who is paying. I don't feel great but didn't realise I looked so ill.

Went in the little cafe and had soup and a roll (£1.65 so less than the bus fare would have been). Very tasty and warming. Caught the bus back and got off opposite little Arseda - the eggs and milk I had bought to make crustless quiches all disapppeared whilst I was at mum's and I bought extra drinks as well.

Havve done more wrapping (sellotape has gone awol again) and watched the fireworks. Had more soup.

Today I am grateful for free entertainment, for soup and for the doctor's surgery.

Sending positive vibes to you and the bus driver - how nice of him.

There are some excellent tutorials on Youtube for how to wrap without sellotape, cuts down on waste and you can reuse the paper if you like.

    Today is NSD13 :j
I have plans for supper and it is all in the fridge, so no need for spending again today. It is 2 different meals, but dh has never really managed to learn to shop for cooking for 6. For some reason he thinks a medium cauliflower is like the very enormous turnip:rotfl:. Bless.

Today is my last day of solitude. The strike begins on Monday.

Gratitudes; Earl Grey tea, having a stack of books to work my way through and rehome, the budget still being healthy.

    Checking in- sorry missed yesterday.

    NSD still on 11/15

Weds so cold gave in to cake and coffee from a friends cafe.

Thursday - Needed fruit/ milk few other items £10 spend.

Went back to get another throw as it has made my old couch look so cozy, luckily got the last one in the shop. Whilst paying for the throw, girl on the till asked me if I had a nut allegry, I was totally confused wondering what the throw was made out of. Then a huge bar of galaxy chocolate appeared with nuts in it, combined with dark chocolate new idea, they were giving away. Not a fan of dark chocolate but this was so moorish, the diet and chocolate gone. oops

Got 2 items in my car for cs will walk round there after when someone else babysits the office. De clutter 27/60

Sister in law was discharged from hospital yesterday but will need further treatment. Need to speak to my nephew. He is obviously concerned about her as she lives on her own and he lives on the other side of the city. Himself got the results of his blood tests and apparently something is not quite right. He has to have some more on Monday. Just seems to be one stress after another with close one's health.
    .
So I haven't done a lot today. I'm trying to clear out a cupboard which is full of cooking things (casseroles, etc). Trying to clean and salvage what I can but some of it will have to go.

Dinner is in the fridge ready to be heated through in the oven. Will have to do a small shop tomorrow. Don't want to buy too much as we're off to the Lake District a week tomorrow.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Another rushed day as mum phoned to say she was on the floor again. Pulled on some clothes (t-shirt, mucky jobs jogging pants and a green jumper that's a bit big and has the potential to grow into a dress), threw a few things in a bag and went off to the taxi office.

As I reached the corner a car went past with Mr and Mrs Builder. I put my hand up and they stoppedand Mrs Builder came to speak to me. I had thought to ask for a lift but Mr Builder's car is more like a mobile shed and I couldn't lie spreadeagled in the back on top of the tools. I gave Mrs Builder the key box code and they went off to rescue mum whilst I crossed over to the taxi office and arrived 10 minutes behind them.

Mum had decided to wash her hair in the shower and sat on an old stool. Stool tipped and she went down (think she might have been dizzy and overbalanced). She had crawled from the bathroom to the front room, thinking she could pull herself up on the armchair and couldn't. her address book was out so she went across the floor to phone me (there's a phone by her chair but it was too high to reach from the floor and she had taken her alarm off in the bedroom to go in the shower).

We had a drink, then I made her breakfast and then went to have a little wash before the hairdresser came. Luckily she has worn herself out so she won't be doing anything she shouldn't. I've put the stool in the shed and brought a garden chair in - they at least have arms so she's more secure and can push herself up.

I got my shower at midday (after mopping, spinning towels and drying the bathmat on the radiator) and then had a large cheese salad. Done a few small jobs and then got a lift back into town with mum's afternoon visitor as I had a prescription to collect.

Quick trip through town to one of the shops I didn't get round to the other day (walker was so loaded up with bags I wouldn't have fit down the aisles) then on to the bus. Mum said I needn't go back today. I've also borrowed her wrapping paper as I'm running out and she doesn't really wrap much these days.

Today I am grateful for good luck with the bus times, for lovely food (bread buns were spotty underneath so I just used the top half and had open sandwiches) and Mr and Mrs Builder, seeing more owls (town centre had a number of stalls including Barnados, Parrot rescue and a wildlife charity).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

I'm not surprised that you've lost weight, mothernerd, with all the non-stop days and rushing you have to do. So good that the Builders were going past and could help.

Today I am grateful for walking with dd to school and chatting, for it being less bitter outside, for confirming that Santa was indeed coming to the local lights switch on, for dh's hospital eye appt being remarkably quick, for seeing the arrival of the aforementioned Santa and the switching on of the lights, for getting some cutting back done in the garden (just 15+ mins, mind, to preserve my hands), for finding those neckwarmer/snoody thingies in aldee for dd and me.

calling14 I had the same experience last week, probably in the same shop, and got the bar of galaxy too! Haven't eaten it yet as working my way through other chocolates first but sounds yum!

Got paid today, have moved all the money to my savings until December so I don't accidentally spend anything I shouldn't. Budgets set for next month, have a few spendy weekends coming up with birthdays and Christmas so I want to take things easy financially.

Went horse riding this morning as we're away in Bath this weekend for OH's birthday treat. The weather held out and it was glorious, when we got back to the yard it bucketed down! Have also been to the gym this evening as well before dinner so feel good going into the weekend. It's likely to be a spendy one but it'll be nice to get away.
