i just downloaded and installed the beta version of Micro$oft's spyware program, and it's actually very good - found several nasties on my pc that spybot, adware, no adware, etc missed, and it gives you the option to download the nasties to Spynet.

I would say it's worth getting - especially as it's free! :money:

one thing though, before you can download it, Microsoft will want to scan your PC, to check whether your copy of Windows is genuine, if it is no probs, if it's not.....quite stupid of you to visit the Microsoft website!

Users of genuine Windows can get their copy of Spyware from here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=321cd7a2-6a57-4c57-a8bd-dbf62eda9671&displaylang=en

not strictly true, it does allow you to say "no not at this time" but downloads a time limited version that expires....serves anyone right for using an illegal copy anyway.....if they want free software then use Linux !!

  • as far as i know, this is a free program, true, it does expire in 60 days, but according to the splashscreen, it says to visit the website for an update at that time, it doesn't say anywhere or on the website (that i could find) that you need to pay for the new version.

I think that this is part of Bill's bribe to get people to use official software so there wouldn't be much point in charging for it would there?

If i'm wrong, please feel free to slag me off!
