Hi all,

I need some help as I am not sure what to do. I am looking for a smartphone called huawei mate 20 pro. I have found a company who will offer me a contract for £25 a month for 2 years, but I have a look on amazon I can get the phone for £319.

If I go with 2 years contract, it will cost me £600 in total for 2 years but if I buy the smartphone, I will have to keep top up at all the time and when I don't use it I will lose the monthly data, the texts and calls that I don't use. I'd find that it is cheaper to go with contract as it is only £25 a month, I don't have to top up at all the time and I don't have £300 right now, but if I buy the phone I would save £300 and I would have to top up.

Should I buy the phone or is it cheaper to get a contract?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Depends how much you would use it, and how much you would spent on Pay as you Go
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

    • 1. Keep your existing phone and your present PAYG/contract
    • 2. Keep your existing phone and move to a cheaper PAYG/contract
    • 3. Buy a cheaper phone if necessary (new or 2nd hand) and keep your present PAYG/contract
    • 4. Buy a cheaper phone if necessary (new or 2nd hand) and move to a cheaper PAYG/contract

    You save either way.

You've answered your own questions unless you create a different option (e.g. a cheaper phone).

Depends how much you would use it, and how much you would spent on Pay as you Go

I dont mind to spend £25 a month. The monthly data I would use average 3GB or less.

How many calls will you make and how much data do you need? Bear in mind when within range of free wifi you can use whatsapp chats and calls from the wfi.

If you can survive with a £10 pay monthly sim then this option will work out cheaper by £41.

Edit, see you mentioned data above. Pretty sure you will be able to get 3gig data package for £10.

Thank you for sent me the link.

Unforunately I want to use O2 network as I have got my number the one I like to keep and it have got a better network. I have looking on the site you sent me the link for a good deal.

    https://mobiles . co. uk/o2-sim-only-deals?tariffcode=J05VMMAR192&giftcode=autocashback&productcode=O2MO2NANPAYM&affiliate=awinm-157118&awc=380_1572285650_24e734067e1cf11ba90f5bfec9eea6b7&utm_source=Awin&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=moneysavingexpert#features

    I have got questions.

If I get it for £9 a month, can I put the sim card in any phone I want like Huawei P Smart 2019?

Do I need to buy the smartphone I want to get so I could use that sim card to put in and pay monthly that cost me no more than £9 per month?

And can I use the same number if I would have to transfer over?
