My daughter is 16 and has jut settled into her first Job , but I know from being her mum that although she has manners and is a nice girl that sometimes when she feels threatened or out of her depth the teenage side of her shows.
she has been really lucky that her new work colleges hae been very freindly to her and heped her to settle in but had hey been at all stand offish she would have probably come across as rude and arrogant ( a most teens do sometimes).

to buy her such an awful secret santa gift would be very cruel and could well come back to bite you. I know if my daughter was treated like that i would definaty encourage her to complain to her supervisor as I don't want her to be the type of person who just takes crap at work .
    I am journeying to a debt-free life.
Our estimated debt-free date is January 2040. I'm on a mission to bring that date closer!
    16/02/23 debts - £9556.38
    emergency fund - £00.00
debt-free diary - Time to Face the music and deal with this debt once and for all
  • Even if she is truly a horrible person, by buying her a cruel secret santa and giving it to her in front of everyone what does that make you? Its hardly good manners to bully someone or be that spiteful.

surely we only learn manners and respect for others from example sending a nasty prezzie just sets a bad example on how to behave. and maybe next year she will get you in the secret santa and sent you something nasty because after all she learnt from you that if you dont like someone you have to send them a nasty present!

  • Why don't you buy her a lottery ticket plus a little gift, hopefully she'll win on the lottery and be out of your hair for good...!
  • the girl in the op sounds like countless people of a similar age i have worked with over the years (and my ex to be honest), luckily for me i look young so they think i am only just younger than them and they tend to relate to me a bit better, its usually they got a hard time at school or get a hard time at home, they tell me this and then find out i am fast approaching my late 20s  :D

best present for her on secret santa? probably one of those girly gift set things in superdrug or wilkinsons
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)
BH is my best mate too, its ok :)

I trust BH even if he's from Manchester.. ;)

all your base are belong to us
  • Buy her something nice, I'm sure there are calendars about with half naked men on them for under £5.
    Winnings :D

    Ahh the spirit of Xmas!

Getting your own back, and inflaming petty squabbles.

As someone who runs his own business, the thing that makes me want to just sell up and go and stack shelves at Asda is the petty mindedness of the people I employ sometimes! For goodness sake! It's only your job. Why can't you just accept that people are different, have different outlooks and understandings.

A bit more tolerance and the aquiring of a life would go an awful long way somethimes!

    Rant over!!!!!
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Think of her as Ebaneezer Scrouge (he may spell it differently though) and you can be the young nephew or the charity collectors or someone from the Cratchets....you get the picture lol. Be full of christmas spirit (literally if it helps) and aim to buy her something to convert her into a lovely person. If it fails you can go back to hating her in the New Year. We've all had people at work we really dislike and who it would make us cringe to be nice to, definitely a challenge. You can do it, dig deep!:D

    A packet of condoms.

It's your duty to society not to let people like that breed. :)
