Why i HATE renters, another rant!

So as I have said before our neighbours moved abroad 4 years ago and their house has been rented out. We now have the fith single mum with unruly kids living there.
They moved in two weeks ago and we haven't had a nights sleep since. Just like the other renters she has children, five from 3 to 15 years old, the two eldest have been excluded from school and play loud war games till the early hours. The youngest wakes at about 5 and from then on the mum screams and slams doors.
I bet that just like the others she will run up debts and leave when six months is up and we will have another lot arrive.
When did this country change so much, we are retired and I well remember renting a house for years, helping elderly neighbours with their garden and trips to hospital etc. but now all we get from renters is bad language and noise.

But just think. If these people were owners rather than renters then you wouldn't be able to do anything about it. At least with them being tenants they are less likley to stay for 10 yearsI am a Mortgage Adviser

Raise a complaint with the letting agent and the local council.
If it is any consolation it isn't just renters. We have had an unruly family move into a 4 bed detached house on our new build estate. Thankfully they are over the road and a few houses down from us so we are spared the noise at night and in the garden but their kids do run a mock on the street and it is only a matter of time before there is an accident or incident.0 -

So you, presumably two of you, want a single mum with 5 kids to do your gardening for you?...0 -

I have had 4 renters next door to me since I have been here, never any issues.0

Are 'renters' a separate breed from people who pay a mortgage, or own outright?
Be careful, some of us here are responsible 'renters' and take offence at such a negative interpretation.I can't imagine a life without cheese. (Nigel Slater)0 -
Handle ANY neighbour issue using CaB guidance here...
https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/housing/problems-where-you-live/complaining-about-your-neighbour/
People I find the worst are smug middle-class owner/occupiers banging on about house prices all the time.
Lived next to renters for a large proportion of my life: On balance defo better than owner-occupiers.0 -
We are trying to sell, price now £10k below what neighbour sold same house with lease problems a year ago.
We are freehold!
No-one is buying up here, investors have looked but not bought.
Trouble is that if I complain I will have to declare it and complaints take years before any action is taken, the renters never stay even one year!0 -
I'm really sorry but I cant help but think that this is another thread that might be best placed somewhere else on another board....maybe the debate one or even the arms.
Making such a sweeping statement as "why I hate renters" isn't really going to bring out the best in anyone.
Please everyone don't turn this into a bash at renters or indeed homeowners ,or even LL's.
The OP has had some constructive advice about going to the CAB and dealing with neighbour issues from artful....
Housing prices have dropped in some areas over the past year and the current uncertainty is making long term decisions more difficult for some people to commit to a house purchase....I doubt very much that the renters next door are solely responsible for the devaluing of your property in a year.
Maybe you should take the issue up with the neighbours who moved abroad and took it upon themselves to rent their property out...or indeed take a leaf out of their book and move abroad yourselves, leaving your house to fund somewhere else in the form of a rental income....now theres an idea.
Lets leave it at that and whilst its probably not intended to be a troll posting...lets not feed it!in S 38 T 2 F 50

Sounds like a bit of an excuse... renters are humans just like owners... each and every person/family is different... it's not connected to being a renter or owner...
Think you need to re-evaluate, seems to "anger" being released as the property isn't selling for the price you are after....0
