Just for WS100 I've cleaned the toaster and kettle - I do these quite regularly anyway so they don't really have a chance to get too grubby, but I know what you mean about them making a difference. I've only been this meticulous since we got a new kitchen and kettle.

I'm touched :o ! Although I'm quite sure you were on the brink anyway ... I'll have a pint of whatever you're on.

Oh dear, I now feel like I've had 10 pints and it's the morning after the night before - got a headache, so I wouldn't recommend doing the week's worth of work in one day to anyone else. Needs must though and I'm pleased that nearly all of the washing has been done, and the flat is looking much better. I'll be able to sleep tonight knowing that I've done my chores for the week, as I don't have a spare room or kids room to do on Friday.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

  • Hi everyone!! Wow my first post, but perhaps about time as I am starting to feel a bit rude, like I know all about you all and you didn't even know I was here!! I hope you don't all mind if I join you, I am a mum of three, newest edition just 10 weeks or is it 11, or 12.... Not sure but anyway need some help keeping on top of all this housework! Another teacher here, oh and in debt as well, hmm is there a pattern here or is it just me??!! Ok will start tomorrow with the bathroom and study, now if the study is situated in the playroom does that mean I have to 'do' the playroom??? *she types rather nervously eyeing the chaos that is the playroom surrounding her*!!!

taurusgb, now if you really think that within say the next 5 years you will find a window those velvet curtains fit on or something else that you can do with them I would say keep them, if the only chance is no chance then I think it's time for them to say goodbye....I got my Mam to make 2 old velvet window curtains into a door curtain for me, weight worked fab as a door curtain.

I'll be clearing out myself, might see if there is something I can make draught excluders with for the double doors into the conservatory as they are bad, never made one so will be fun.

Jue, we have one coat rack half way up and one above for ours, we also have hooks on the back of the bedroom doors.

    sexymouse ((hugs)) go to bed.

    ws100 welcome :)

Mad with money welcome, and congratulations on the newest member of the family, what love and chaos they bring :D hope you enjoy joining us. If that's where you're starting then I suppose it's included but in here we do babysteps, so even if you do some of it no need to panic as the rooms come round again next week.

My half hour managed to get the broth potted up for the freezer, made kids teas and baked off some rolls for with mine, tidied most things away in the kitchen, got the dishwasher filled and started then had my dinner. Few more bits to do in the kitchen which I will do now before I put the kids to bed.
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Hello there Mad with Money.

I'm new too. This thread is great for motivation and the huge job of housework is in really manageble chunks. Even if you just do a corner of the playroom you'll feel better and you'll probably just want to carry on anyway.

But if not, just as lil-me says in her intro, the rooms (or corners!) will still be there tomorrow so no need to go mad straight away.

I'm enjoying it so much I may even take it up professionally. Actually, no, forget I said that.:D

    Happy cleaning and posting.

    Welcome Mad with Money!

You will probably find that most of us were lurkers at first before we got up the courage to join in, but I can honestly say that you couldn't meet a more supportive and nice bunch of people. I haven't looked back since, and I've definitely found that it has helped me to stay on top of things now I'm teaching again. What age group do you teach? I'm primary (qualified in July, and doing supply until I can find somewhere to do my NQT year).

As for the playroom, you'll probably be able to do that when the children's rooms come up (usually on Friday).

  • Well done Sexymouse, I bet it feels great to be on top of it all!
Welcome to the thread Madwithmoney, your most definitely in the right place here. My 'study' is in the livingroom so I either do it on livingroom day or study day, time and energy allowing. I'm sure the others will say the same but tailor the list to suit you. Good luck!

Bedroom done in a jiffy - I don't leave anything out in there ( disturbs my sleep if I can spy something like shoes or empty water glass ) so a wet dust all round and I was good and did the paintwork too. The vacc stopped sucking when I was poking about under the bed with the long hose bit... I half thought of posting a picture but I know some of you have a delicate constitution.. poor little mousey is all I'm saying. Gross I know.

Bathroom cleaned with what remained of my energy - and Starclen of course- the shower curtain can wait til I've got some whites to wash.

I'm going to get some supper and ring my cuz who's just been to see her new nephew and the saviour of our family surname!

May pop on later but have a good evening if I don't get back.

    I don't hate my husband.

    I don't hate my husband.

but, I really, really, really dislike him sometimes....

On a good note, bedrooms are nice and warm for once, with the radiators at 1!!!!!

Bad note, the top bit of wood on the kids room window is loose so we had to tack the blind to the wall above it cos the new pole was pulling it off the wall. And, half the plaster on the outside of the window frame has been chipped off, oh and there is a hole below the kids window. Apart from that, the bathroom window looks FAB! I'm going mad, I know...

I need to S&S everything but I burnt myself out yesterday or I'm just too bloody lazy... maybe the argument with OH about fitting the pole to the kids window made me stop giving a carp... mleh....
