After numerous interruptions from DH, I am halfway through sorting out the DR floor. It is/was completely covered with stuff that doesn't belong in there. Still quite a way to go and I've got to decide what to do with the coats. At the moment they get thrown on the DR table but I would like to have them elsewhere so we can actually use the table! We've got coat hooks in the conservatory but 1) it's absolutely freezing in there in Winter and 2) the kids can't reach them so they can't get their own coats or hang them up. Any ideas anyone? There's no room in the hall as it's just the width of the front door.
Anyway I need to find some puzzles for school tomorrow so I may do that now and then go and continue in the DR.
How did you get on sexymouse? - better than me I hope!

Hiya everyone
Not done a huge amount of flying today apart from general tidying as working during school hours then had four children to pick up from school (only two of them mine). Dropped one off at her grans as her mum was poorly. Another child arrived ten minutes ago and i'll drop three children off at brownies at 6. This should leave me with one child, one of mine, so I'll do a head count after the brownie run to see if i've done everything right! Lol!
I've got a headache that doesn't want to go away, right down the right hand side of my face into my teeth and neck. Think it might be the start of a migraine so I really just want to go to bed.
My £100 a week challenge seemed possible until I remembered the cat has it's jabs next week and I need to buy a bag of food for her. That will probably be £60 out of my £100 gone! Mmmmm, it's certainly going to be a challenge but i'll do what I can. Anything saved it good.
Hugs to all who need it xxJanuary budget

I can't believe I'd be looking forward to a post that gives me a list of jobs to do!
I only really started today and got to level 3 + an extra mission. I also did a couple of extra missions from Monday but didn't go mad and try and backtrack Mon & Tues. So I'm done for the day, except for tea and a kitchen swish and swipe before bed. See, only been lurking a couple of days and I'm speaking like a native.
Now for the question...
Can anyone please recommend a telescopic (feather??) duster. I was going round with my multi-coloured nylon one that cost £1 and it's absolute carp. Didn't pick up a thing as I realised the feathery bits stick out to the side and there's nothing on top - if that all makes sense! I've seen the one on the Flylady website, but I'm sure there's one with my name on it in this country.
Thanks, on all sorts of levels :T

Why not hang a coat hanger from a piece of string/rope looped around from the hooks. This will effectively allow the children to put their coat on the dangling hanger, which is at their height?
Effectively a two tier system as the hook remains empty at the adult height as well.

Duster - I have one like yours but it is fluffy sheepskin - it was expensive but is great - I just bang it out and it has lasted ages.
Off to get DS1The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Julie our kids hang their coats on the ends of the radiator in the hall as they can't reach the hooks in the cupboard (that and it's full to bursting!) Great idea from M.E.
Right on with dinner, fish fingers, chips and peas for the kids and leftover shepherds pie for me.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -

I did the airing cupboard challenge - most of it into a convenient charity shop bag that has now been collected. Amazing just how much junk you keep really. All baby stuff has now gone to two people at work :j .
Big challenge for tonight is to sort the present bags that are lurking in our bedroom. Usually do them Christmas Eve but we have ILs staying for a week so not an option this year.
As of yesterday I have a working Aga wood burning stove - not the same I know but still very proud of it! My range cooker finally got delivered on the third attempt this week. Couldn't have an Aga sadly - not enough room and the wrong house layout. Do have the scrubbed wooden table, but only till we actually have the kitchen units built. Kitchen is a lot bigger since we knocked the pantry walls down a week or two ago.
I had an interview this morning - went well I think, so just need some of the Fly thread job search good luck to rub off on me too please. Mind you, it will leave me with even less time for cleaning......'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
You've had a good week then sexymouse!
Far be it from me to tell you to do another task....;) but I recommend cleaning the small/med appliances. I cleaned the guk of the BM, kettle and toaster today and the whole kitchen looks different! Maybe because the light can bounce off them now!
