Up bright and early this morning for a 7am start at work. But at least I'll be finished by 12!!
To do today
- get overtime slip signed for the two hours extra I did at work on Wednesday ('my' customer came in literally as I was picking up my things ready to walk out the door!) Done
- shop on the way home from work. I have to drive past my house to get to Aldi, so no saving on fuel, but would rather do it then than get home and have to go out again. Done (and in the rain!)
- lunch will be salad with chicken legs (Rubber Chicken day 4) Done
- get the spring cleaning that I didn't do yesterday done today. Would like to get the landing finished so I can move on down to the utility room, which is desperate for a good clean. Made a start, but didn't get it finished.
- gym this evening My hip is giving me jip - I think I overdid it last time I was there. Decided to keep warm and rest it instead of going out in the cold and the rain and potentially making things worse.
- pizza and salad for dinner, with a glass of wine. I buy a whole pizza, eat half and freeze half. This week it's the frozen half. Done
It's nearly the weekend. Not long now.

Morning all :hello:
We’re off out to somewhere local using our annual membership today. Will make a picnic in a minute. Other things:
Check banking - no change
Check just for points CC - got £30 in vouchers yesterday through the post for this
Triage fridge
Hang washing done overnight on airer
Out with pal tonight, first to a free event and then for dinner somewhere. It is my treat but I have the budget for it and it won’t be too costly as it won’t be anywhere fancy
De clutter another space
Look for some material and see if I can make my own curtains for a room
Have a good day all. Purps.0 -
1LL Thanks for the update, glad to hear you have had some professional advice and the side effects are easing. Good news that the tooth pain has gone.
trailing makes complete sense to me, even if you do have to drive past your house as your day will be less broken up.
Today's plans:
PAD
Pmp

Home educate the children for free
Go to neighbouring city to buy OH's birthday present
Use free cake & hot drinks voucher whilst in the city
Update spending diary
Place an order with the wholesalersFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family0 -
Morning all, I'm actually feeling quite good this morning!! sshhhh I can't remember the last time I could say that! :j
Today I will
* book next weeks gym classes (just one a day next week to build myself back up) done
* get a beef stew going in the slow cooker done, I love my sc!
* peel loads of spuds and make mashed potato as they've started sprouting as I've not really been eating
* update freezer inventory and come up with a rough meal plan for next week as its half term and I have two very hungry boys at the minute - growth spurt coming!
* wash a load on the quick 30 degree wash done and hang over radiators ready to dry when the heating goes on this evening
* have yet another move round of furniture in the front room where the kids hang out, as the way ds1 is using his new computer is having him sitting on an angle and he's commented about a stiff neck a couple of times but then he hasn't done anything about it! I think I can move things around so that he can sit square to the monitor instead. done, only took a 3 X 10 minutes bursts and the room looks completely different!! I know the modern thing is to have big open family spaces but I'm glad we didn't go that way when we had the chance as for us this house has been so versatile. I love that me and dh have our little snug at the back of the house now (originally the dining room with an arch from the living room which we blocked up to have as the playroom when the kids were little) The kids now have the living room at the front of the house with all there games/consoles/computers etc. It means we're now at the back looking out over the garden rather which is much nicer and it means on Halloween I can switch all the lights off in the front of the house, bring the kids into our snuggle roomand camp out watching funny films eating popcorn and pretending to be out!!
* check banking/update spreadsheet
* make a note of a couple of cheques I've had to write for the school on my cashbook as it always takes them ages to cash them.
* use it up lunch - Finished off a wrap with the end of a pack of ham and a bit of cheese.
Now that feels like quite a lot after doing so little for the week so I'll see how I get on. Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Afternoon all
Pleased to hear that you are feeling better 1LL
Waiting in for a delivery today. Just had one in fact, but not the one I am waiting for - our camper van awning came back from the tent repair company. They have done a good job - neither OH nor I could tell for certain which corner they had repaired. It had a big tear in the fabric as well as damage to the anchor point for the pole. It wasn't cheap, but I am glad we had it done. Now all folded up and ready to be put away for the winter
Apart from that I have made a soup to use up what I hope is the last of the fridge shrapnel and done various bitty jobs that don't take me too far from the front door. I need to get something from the garage and put stuff away on the top floor but daren't as I might not hear the door.
Listed a couple more things on ebay
Sorted out some more things for my sales unit
Currently it is all out on the dining table as I can't go and get boxes to put it away
Will go and do some cleaning on the first floor in a minute (easy to hear the door from there)
Need to continue compiling shopping list, but won't need to go todayOH wanted some beer and fuel so I gave him the list and he went
Lunch was soup
Dinner will be pesto pasta
Looking forward to lighting the stove later, as it is getting chilly in here. I refuse to put the main heating on yet.
Grrr the delivery didn't arrive till nearly 6pm (cardigans from Next) and they will have to go back because they are HUGE  Their website isn't very clear as regards returns so I had to phone for advice, which I don't like atm as my new asthma inhaler has reduced my voice to a squeak  Anyway, done now, will be collected on Monday which means waiting in again no doubt
Must ring surgery about inhaler next weekIn the meantime I will use the old one, which luckily still have, but is no longer on repeat prescription. Still, it is just a trivial annoying thing, and I shouldn't moan because DD1's poor FiL last night had to have his major operation completely redone
He is stable in the ICU, so everyone is keeping their fingers crossed.

Thanks Dawn, I hate waiting in for deliveries.... they always seem to come when I go to the loo!
Today I've also sorted through the kids drawers in the front room added a couple of bits to the cs bag thats in the garage.
Drilled a hole into a storage basket we already had, took a plug off an extension lead, fed it through put the plug back on, its now a charging point for the kids phones/tablet without having cables all over.
Recovered my kitchen window seat pads with two purple fleece throws we had in a box not being used, they look great now next to the grey seat pads on the dining chairs and grey/white table clothSticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Quiet around here again this week. Hope everyone is ok. My little list for today:
Roast dinner using what we have. Use previously frozen HM YP
Make a cake after I bought some eggs
Cook some chicken legs for lunchboxes whilst roast is in
Make stock with bones
Get ready for school, bags, lunch boxes etc...
Go for a walk such a lovely day compared to yesterday and we want to make the most of it.
Make a list of things I'd like to achieve this next week
Have a good day all. Purps.0 -
Morning all (I think!) changing clocks always confuse me for days - the computer and phones change themselves, I have done the one in the car, but the oven clock and all the clocks in the house need to be done
Anyway, went to a boot sale / market this morning. Bought mostly things to sell on (so a business cost rather than household or personal spends) but also bought potatoes from the greengrocer, much better and cheaper than the supermarket, some new microfibre cleaning cloths, some eggs and a few broad bean plants and autumn planting onion sets.
Came home to find the intermittent leak in the cupboard under the sink back with a vengeance   Pulled everything out, rescued what I could from the soggy washing powder box, mopped up and left everything to dry out.
Walked dog, recorded business and household spends in the appropriate places, and now sitting with a coffee.
Still to do:
Lunch will sandwiches made from fridge bits Done
Dinner will be sausages and vegetables roasted with fennel seeds, using some of our parsnips, carrots and leeks from the gardenDone - eventually...
Hoover up washing powder debris once the kitchen has dried out Done
Load of washing in the machine, might be worth pegging it out for a couple of hours, as it is a nice day after all yesterday's rain Put it out - it is still out! Better get it in.
A bit of gardening - I have some fuchsia plants to cut back and put in the greenhouse to overwinter, or not, as the case may be. I don't like them much, but they have survived for about 3 years now, so will give them a chance. The rest of the garlic needs planting now its tub is free, and I will inspect the raised bed to see where I might plant broad beans and onionsCut back the fuchsias and put them in the greenhouse. Planted rest of garlic.
Dried out under sink cupboard after leak, hoovered, washed floor
Started cooking the dinner, and after almost an hour, realised it wasn't cooking as as it should.... oven not working properly, nothing like hot enough
Luckily I have 2 ovens so heated up the second oven and transferred it over, so it got cooked eventually. Found the contact details for a local person who fixes gas cookers, so will call him tomorrow. An expense I could do without, but I need my oven to work properly.
Finally had to put the central heating on for the first time, as it is really quite cold. And the controller needed a new battery - but at least that was easily resolved with a new battery from my stash.0
