    Today:

    Walk to work
Take leftover buffet bread for toast at lunchtime and leftover brownies for colleagues
Fill up water bottle at work
Read book - need to finish by book club on 6th Nov
Got to pop out for buffet ingredients after work and then make 2 lunches for tomorrow and 1 breakfast for 26 people tomorrow
Snowball calculator keeps giving error message so haven't updated that

Starting to worry about Xmas, as Ive usually started stockpiling bu now but have only bought a couple of stocking presents - just to bust to think

Dawn earlier this year I changed to using a shampoo bar, as you say it seems to be everlasting, I started a new bar last week, I've noted down the date I'm going to find out how long it really does last. I wish I had made the switch much sooner my hair looks and feels much better.

1LL I hope the antibiotics are working & you are on the mend.

It is our usual busy Wednesday, both children have 2 different lots of training in different towns. Tonight's meal is quick to prepare, tasty and filling to eat.

Today will just be doing the same little money saving bits and pieces.

If it cold when we get home I'm going to light the stove.

Was very late going to sleep last night /this morning, which is hardly surprising given I had slept for most of the previous 24 hours due to migraine. So, I got up later than usual and now on my third cup of coffee!
Sad news this morning, DD1's father in law is very ill after a major operation :( Hoping for better news later, but worried there may not be. Slightly more positive news, but he is still very poorly. DD's MiL and SiL have another stressful night coming up by all accounts :( (according to the SiL whom I messaged to send my best wishes)

The weather is foggy and gloomy so hoping that at least cheers up later. It did for a couple of hours before the gloom descended again... and then it started to rain
    Today's plans:
Make a chicken and chorizo casserole to use up more fridge bits, got the chicken out of the freezer last night. Done, made a big one, enough for tonight and two other meals for the two of us
Make cheese scones to use up rest of elderly cheese Done, OH very pleased!
Also cooked a gammon hock as the oven was on anyway

List at least one item on ebay I did list just one item
Some cleaning / tidying in the house, and if it brightens up, the garden. The results of recent decluttering are making this easier :j

Put some stuff away, no real cleaning done except for a quick kitchen blitz :o

Did a bit more in the garden, cut back some of the raspberry canes which have finished fruiting. I grow the autumn type which you simply cut to the ground once they have finished. My compost bins are pretty full at this time of the year, so I am limited in the amount of clearing I can do in one go by the space available. I have to do a bit, then wait for the compost to go down a bit!
Make hair appointment for dog who is resembling my granny's old mop again :rotfl:Done, all set for next Thursday
Check banks and do some other finance stuff. Done, pleased to see that the £50 payout from Yougov has now arrived into my bank account :D
Semi dried bedding on line outside, now on airer by stove to finish off.
    Did the ironing

    Morning all,

I'm struggling with the new antibiotics, I'm either feeling sick or being sick :( on the positive side my tooth/gum pain is just about gone so they're working at least! Thank you for asking BB.

Not much planned today as I feel so yuk.
    Today I have/will
    * cancel meet up with friend for coffee - will rearrange when I'm fit DONE
    * cancelled gym classes for today - don't want to lose my place in future classes by not turning up today DONE
    * picked up dh's prescription so asked advice from the pharmacist about the antib's and basically its a try to persevere with them, have a cup of tea and couple of biscuits before taking the med to see if that helps. DONE
    * called into aldee (hadn't taken any med at this point so thought it was the best time to dash in and out!) We were desperate for milk, fruit, veg and bread oh and I had to buy a packet of ginger nuts as per the pharmacist! DONE
    * the washing I put on the quick wash is still sat in the machine as I just couldn't sort it yesterday so must get that out before it goes smelly DONE and washed another little load on the quick wash
    * take meter readings and submit DONE
    * renew library books online so as not to incur late fees if I don't feel up to going tomorrow DONE
    Also - checked banking/updated spreadsheet
    * filed some paperwork as it kept being left on the kitchen counter
** triaged the fridge and am making a "use it up" quick curry - a bit of diced chicken that was left with some diced peppers, an onion a grated carrot, bendy celery all cooked til soft, add in a big spoonful of light mayo, a spoon of curry powder, some milk and a tablespoon of peanut butter. Will add the bbe 5/10 spinach I've just blitzed and some frozen peas at the end. A great use up recipe we do often :)

Thats about it for now. Take care all.

Dawn, I hope you get better news later.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning all. I have definitely slipped off the bandwagon on this so what is your definitive every day tasks? I check my bank and update my spreadsheet which as the month goes on, proves more and more depressing.

I have joined the gym in the last 10 days which gives me access to classes too alongside the gym itself so saving me money on classes which are £5 a time plus it will hopefully motivate me to go to make use of the costs incurred.

I had great plans to save up for Christmas but that has not happened so it all comes round again trying to stretch things out.

I keep mine in a distinctive lidded soap dish to prevent exactly this....
The actual soap is on view, so he goes for that.

    Hi Everyone

Apologies for not getting on yesterday but it was a very boring day - waiting in for a delivery which never arrived and numerous phone calls chasing and still not resolved. Today we've been for a lovely walk with DS and have no other major plans but still keeping the DFW faith:

Check Bank & made PAD - Done
    RM surveys/correctly delivered - Done
Swagbucks (easy SWAGO board open) -
    Purge a few emails
    Enter a few comps
    Surveys
    All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer
    Check: Lucky Bob, PMP, WinaDinner
    Read library book -

    Have a great day!

    Hi

I'm getting closer to my debt reduction From £15,000 in debt to £1300 left on credit card, so very pleased with myself. Can't wait to be debt free. Savings up to £1400. When they get to £2000 will be enough rainy day fund and I will then get credit card debt paid off faster.

    My small things:
    -No drinks/coffees out in town
-Going minimalist with my toiletries and make-up. I never used half the stuff anyway.
-Using a little less of everything- good for the environment too. Less toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel etc.
    - Not buying any new clothes.
    - Not changing outfits so much. Keeping clean obviously, but not so many outfit changes in a day. Saves on washing and wear and tear.
-Using old junk mail for shopping lists.
    - Swapping unused leftover xmas cards from last year with family- they will be new cards to my friends.
    - buying plain gift wrap, that can be used for xmas and birthdays.
    - Buying larger portions of veg which are cheap now and making vegetable curries and freezing.
    - Having one less haircut a year
    - buying hair dye when half price
    - bought bargain price yoga mat and doing free workouts from internet when weather too bad outside for walking
    - using library instead of buying books for now

    All the best
