Sorry to hear you are having a bad reaction to the antibiotics, have you been back in touch with the Dentists to see if there is an alternative you don't react to. Remember to take a note of these ones so you can avoid them in the future.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Hope you see light at the end of the tunnel soon ILL - you seem to have been suffering with this tooth issue for ages
Gwynfil, well done on the debt reductionHope you stay with us. I am debt free (now, certainly wasn't always the case ) and find that keeping an eye on the small things helps to keep it that way!

Morning all. I've got a day off today, so doing lots of busy things!! There's paperwork that needs to be done, then I'm off to volunteer for the day at East Riddlesden Hall.
- pay £1.50 to Northern Rail. Long story short, I didn't buy a ticket (there's normally a conductor), and was issued an unpaid fare notice at my destination. I appealed, successfully, so now all I owe them is the difference between the return fare I would have paid if I'd had the chance, and the single that I had to buy to get home. Done
- get a new PIN number - had a new card issued recently and now can't remember the new PIN number!! It's on its way
- put in a mileage claim Done
- do a bit more Spring Cleaning. It's only the landing, so shouldn't take too long, but there's a big window and nets that need washing, so not just a 5-minute swish! Not managed it today - add it to the list for tomorrow.
- ring edf. I've had no end of hassle with my Smart Meter - not entirely their fault, but it's been going on since March. I've decided to switch supplier but we were already at the stage of discussing compensation so I need to have a conversation with them. Ditto
- finish sorting out the spare bedroom so that there's space on the floor for a bed. I've cleared the floor, so that's OK - but all the carp is now in my bedroom!!! I need to actually decide where it's going to go - but the whole reason it was all over the floor in the spare room was because there was no-where else to put it!! Chipped away at it - not much left to decide on.
- write blog yes
- meal plan and write shopping list for tomorrow. I'm at work 7am to 12noon tomorrow, so if I get myself organised I can shop on the way home from work, which means I don't have to turn around and go out again. Done - just have to remember to take it with me in the morning.
- check bank account to make sure there's enough in there to pay the mortgage on 26th. There should be, if my calculations are correct - but I like to be certain. Yes I did, and yes there was.
- update my spending spreadsheet using my latest bank statement and my credit card statement. As I very rarely use cash, these act as a pretty accurate spending diary. Done.
Can I get all of that done in 2 hours and 42 minutes, and be all set to leave the house at 10? Probably not - but I would increase the chances of success by actually getting out of bed...
Have a great day if you possibly can.

I was the same this morning, Trailingspouse. I'm an early riser but was woken too early by a cat fight on our street & when the alarm went off, I couldn't find any impetus to move until I heard the coffee machine beep!
I have lots I still want to accomplish this week. I think I'll go & start my morning kitchen sort out & ironing, then move onto meal plans & a couple of this week's target jobs. Meal plans will be a lot easier now we've decided what we're doing at the weekend. OK, caffeine imbibed, time to shake a leg.

1LL - Sorry to hear the anti-bios are making you feel poorly. That's only ever happened to me once. It was years ago when I was bitten by a horse fly. It infected badly, as apparently they often do, & my leg started to turn black so off to the GP I trotted. She gave me some anti-bios which she said were strong, & used in deep tissue infections. I don't know what kind they were but they were very large tablets which I had to take 3 or 4 times a day, & they made me feel so horribly nauseous. I remember I kept trying different things with timing them.... Before food, with food, after food. I couldn't eat breakfast because if I did, I felt too sick to concentrate on my 25 mile drive to work. They sorted out the horrible fly bite & I was grateful for that, but I was heartily relieved when that course of tablets was finished. I hadn't had that reaction before.
Hope you are soon back to your normal self, anyway.

I can't say the same in my house as OH used it as soap even though I'd told him!I keep mine in a distinctive lidded soap dish to prevent exactly this....
The actual soap is on view, so he goes for that.
twiggy I keep mine in the bedroom when not in use, so dd doesn't decide to use it instead of soap. It is very easy to see the soap, so no excuses children.
As I prefer my shampoo bar to dry between uses, I use a dish without a lid, but if I was keeping it in the bathroom a lidded a would be a great option.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Morning all
Slow start this morning for some reason, and so far I have only had breakfast (used HG fruit), sorted the dishwasher and put clean stuff away, froze some cheese scones and the 2 tubs of chicken and chorizo stew I put in the fridge overnight, and fed the dog!
More coffee needed definitely!
Today I intend to:
Move airer to space in recently decluttered dining room. Remove dry items, but the king size cotton sheet and duvet cover on it are not properly dry yet, and I don't have the heating on to warm the airing cupboard, so it can't be folded away yet. Done
Some cleaning / tidying needed (not my favourite thing) Hmm, not done much
I have 2 tired lemons hanging around, one of which has no longer got a zest, so lemon drizzle cake is in order I think, before they go mouldy or dry out. I will freeze some of the cake. Done, froze half. Only used the juice from one of the lemons, so squeezed the other one as well and froze it in a little reusable container (labelled it, too).
Freeze the habanero chillis I picked yesterday Done, picked the remaining chillis off one of the plants. The plants themselves are in quite good nick (they often aren't at this time of the year, so I decided to try to overwinter them. I have done it successfully once before, but googled for some tips. Pruned the plant that has 'finished' according to instructions. The other plant is still growing / producing, so I will leave that one a bit longer.
Gather some vegetables to roast for dinner tonight - we have carrots (lots), parsnips, leeks and beetroot ready in the garden, so need to use some of them. Done, roasted a big tray so I can use some in soup tomorrow
Start a shopping list, though I shan't go today Done
Text DD1, to ask how her FiL is this morning Done, he is still very poorly but small improvements.
There will be more, back later to update
Managed to fix my printer :j Messaged the small local business I take our tech to for repairs etc. He messaged back with some suggestions and one of them worked. I knew it was a software issue rather than the printer itself. I had googled and tried the methods suggested on youtube etc, and they didn't work. But up and running again now :T - this will save me queueing at the post office with my ebay parcels (I use a drop and go account for my small business, but it needs a printer, and I haven't been able to use it for a few weeks). It took me over an hour fiddling with it, but I am so glad it is done
Not a NSD - I renewed our membership of a local attraction and ordered myself a couple of warm cardigans for the winter (not a knitter, sadly). All spends recorded on spreadsheet.
Warmer here tonight, so haven't needed to light the stove.0 -
Morning all, thank you for the well wishes.
BaileysBabe I spoke to the pharmacist yesterday whilst I was picking up Dh's meds and asked for advice, basically it was stick with them and my body would get used to it and stop rejecting them. Suggested having tea and biscuit before the med which does seem to have helped as now its just the nausea, which comes and goes. I no longer have tooth pain, the gum is much less sore then it was so at least I know its working. This is week Four Dawn, I shouldn't have left it the two weeks before going to the dentist in the first place but I'm on the waiting list to have this particular tooth extracted at the hospital and would often have a bit of toothache in it for a couple of days and it would settle itself back down but not this time. The dentist did say that it shouldn't be much longer now for the appointment. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Its been a weird month for me, not only have I had this problem but I've had a couple of tummy bugs, burnt my hand on some steam and had a fall. All have left me feeling very low. At least I don't have the 25 mile commute as Foxgloves had!
gwynfil You've done so well and I like the idea of swapping unused xmas cards with family, thats not something I'd thought of before.
Todays list
* rm survey
* all meals from stores, the curry thing I made last night had enough left for two portions and had a ys chicken kiev thing in the freezer that I've taken out to defrost
* make families lunches for tomorrow (last one before they all have a week off)
* put washing away that has dried on the radiators
* take some stewing beef out of the freezer to defrost ready to cook tomorrow
* check banking/ update cashbook
That feels like a lot just at the minute!
Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Afternoon all
Today I have been working on my budget for next month and splitting out shopping, DD's etc and will try not to splurge on unnecessary items until I sell some bits and bobs of craft surplus plus work on my handmade crafts ready to list for sale.
