  • Hope you feel better soon, PipneyJane!

£3 spent at the market this morning, which bought me 10 bananas, 2 pineapples and a punnet of blueberries; no massive bargains for us, but I did get given 5 iceberg lettuces, which the chickens adore. That's not to say there were no bargains; there were, but not things we needed or that I could use or preserve. So - a bit further over budget, but we should be able to cope with what we have in - with the possible exception of garlic! You never know when the vampires might strike...

After the weekend my total stands at £391.61/£400. It would have been less but my £8 off £40 voucher was valid from today and I needed to shop earlier. I will use it this week instead.

Only 3 days of my budget month left so we might just make it :)

Good job I did not hold my breath, another £24.21 to add, but that has included some Christmas goodies and I lucked out with a Lidl fruit n' veg box. So I'm under for this month by the look of it, but not declaring yet, just in case a good deal catches my eye and it can fit in the freezer.

£12 or so left till the end of the month, so I'm really pleased about that! I will be doing a small shop on Thursday but only need a few bits so I'm feeling optimistic.
We did a £22.20 shop in Aldeee yesterday, no straying from the list either.
I picked up a bag of apples, they looked fresh and felt firm, but at the till the cashier took them from me saying i couldn't have them as they were out of date, I hadn't even noticed. I asked what would happen to them, would they be given to a charity? He told me no, they will go to landfill....I am SO shocked, such a waste of perfectly good food, and all because of some ridiculous date.....complete madness!

Thanks for the good wishes, ladies. I do feel considerably better than I have in the last week.

No spending to declare since Sunday. Payday is Friday so I am tempted to declare. We do need yoghurt though, so I will hold off.
