A mixed bag of shops with the total being £78 to add, fingers crossed it should just be bread and milk till the end of the month, but I'm not holding my breath.
    £71.93/ £180.00

As my budget was going to include food out, I spent £10 yesterday at a gig, and that's in the signature.

But it leaves me with £29, and that would be fine, but my sister has surprise asked us to Sunday lunch. I need to go, we're discussing my dad's care.

    Agh!
    Keep reading books!
August grocery challenge START: £150. total SPENT £11.60, REMAINING £138.40.
  • AND I'm bust again... £1.46 over budget, and there'll be more; we'll need bananas mid-week, and garlic supplies are perilously low!

We've been pushed over by two things: a) having to advance the monthly delivery of cat food, as DD2 has been "feeding up" our little huntress in the hope that will make her less likely to want to slaughter the local wildlife, or at least less successful at it, and b) my usual supplier was out of chickens for the Sunday roast, so I've had to go & buy 2 supermarket ones, as they're just not big enough! Which cost more... ah well! I shall try to keep further purchases right down & see if we can come in below £465.

Now, off to make a Heligan Pineapple cake; had some at Heligan last weekend & it's really delicious, not over-sweet. So as pineapples were 2 for £1.50 this morning, before I knew about the chickens, I couldn't resist!

  • We have spent £16.27 since last post.

OH is having soup and bread for dinner.
I'm having vegetable stew for dinner.

    £202.67/£210.
    £7.33 left.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D
  • Annoyingly, I've just found out that two of our guests can't make it for Sunday lunch! So one chicken would have been enough & I'd still have had £2.64 to play with! Which would have been enough... ah well, one of the chickens has gone into the freezer for another day.

i have spent £25 this week...thats good but i purchased a rather nice coat so cant really call myself thrifty

im on a mission to shop from the house so have made a list of meals that i can make with what i have in. Hopefully there will be tiny spends until Dec. I would also like a bit of room in my freezer for christmas stuff
    onwards and upwards
  • Declaring November at a frugal £242.78/£400.
Very pleased considering my overspend last month. Stocks in cupboards are looking healthy but freezer is sparse. That will be rectified once the festive meat and other items go in.
Two weeks and the locusts will be back from uni to eat us out of house and home - but I can hardly wait.
See you on the December thread.
  • Final shop for November done today. I spent £90 , well £90.24 to be precise but I always round up or down to the nearest pound. So November total is. £389/£400

I'm really pleased with that as I've picked up a few Christmas bits and also bought another 2 bottles of wine, I did forget to buy some naan bread to have with the chicken tikka I am making on Tuesday, so will need to buy those on Monday, but still for the first time in a long time I will be under budget.

Pay day is next Friday, so see you all on the December thread.

Last shop of November with a spend of £2.90, so that brings me to a total of £30.31 / £40 for the month. I was £7.85 over in October so pretty pleased with that!

    Afternoon all

How’re you doing? I think I’ve caught the office cold - feel like crud today. I’ve been fighting it since Thursday. I’m currently drinking a Chinese style cup-a-soup, which is searing my tonsils with garlic flavoured liquid.

I had to go to Brent Cross this morning - a nightmare - to collect some bottles I’d ordered for Christmas presents* from Lakeland, so we also went to Win-Yip and stocked up on noodles, soy sauce, Singapore Chow-Mein paste, rubber gloves and washing-up liquid. The £28.21 spent will come out of the Bulk Fund.

The Asda shop I mentioned in my last post came to £6.52. Yesterday, we spent £5.30 on veg at the farm shop and £1.06 at MrT’s. This brings our November Grocery Challenge spend to £108/£120 leaving £12 for the remainder of the month.

    - Pip

    * The bottles will be filled with homemade “Chocolate Vodka”.
