Also Benefits & Work has this:

But, it is likely to be of most use to members (c.£20 pa) who can access their guides. Not sure it's worth joining just for the assessment tips, but the B & W guides on appealing are very helpful (hopefully your mum won't need those!).
Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.
  • I’ll save the link anyway I’m case it does come to that.

If she can't get anyone to go with her then remember she can cancel the appointment but will only be able to do this once.
  • Yeah that's the trouble with only been able to change once and having to also accommodate my work rota and the availability of the support staff at sight service, so going to ring them first thing Monday so if I know there will be issues I can get in touch with them and try and rearrange for a more suitable time.

Just spent the afternoon reading the majority of the assessment handbook (I think its called) that was linked on that website I was referred to. That's quite an interesting read.

One bit I was surprised about what If you have a visual impairment with a CVI and have provided this than there is no need to do an eye test at the assessment and shouldn't be asked. But then there are lots of the "horror" stories about where people were asked. Are you justified to then refuse and refer them to this guide or just accept and read what you can just like you did anyway before been issued with the CVI so it doesn't cause issues?

She also had an ophthalmology appointment two weeks ago and we are waiting on the latest letter to arrive, the one you get a copy of which is sent to the GP and hope it does arrive by the 4th, because she's been told one of her eye drops is to be stopped and she is been offered an alternative treatment where they make personalised eye drops for you using your own blood, so that would be handy to have to show them a new medication?
  • Forgot to come back and let you know.

We got the assessors report about the middle of December and if they go by it she will get enhanced on both.

She received a letter yesterday dated the 2nd Jan saying they have all the information.

    Just the dreaded wait now.

Proof of posting is all you need. Recorded next day delivery is a waste of money because it doesn't mean it's arrived with DWP. All it means is that it's been signed for by someone from Royal mail sorting office and it could be anywhere in the building. It's not classed as arriving until it's been added to the computer.

It means nothing of the sort. The postie has to obtain a signature from someone at that address, not necessarily the addressee. The service has been called 'Signed For' for several years now and is only next working day delivery if first class postage has been paid. Unlike Royal Mail Special Delivery, which is segregated, Signed For travels with all the other mail.

Regardless of what your job used to be, it's well known fact that mail going to DWP if it's signed for delivery, is not signed for by anyone at DWP...

So, did you work for the DWP? It's a disciplinary matter if the postie signs for it. You've already laid bare your ignorance of how the Signed For service works.

Nope absolutely not! and i'm not bias either, i'm stating well known facts. So you're telling me that when it's signed for before 6am this is someone from DWP?? Of course it is lol
