PIP Form Return

  • Depends on what you send.............

With PIP when a document is accepted you will receive an automated text message.

Usually it takes around 7 days. If you haven't heard call the help line on day 10 and ask (same applies for anything you send to the DWP).

Now there's being reported an issue with PIP Mandy Recons. I've experienced it personally where by they are not recording written requests for Mandys until you call them.

see here for further details https://www.rightsnet.org.uk/forums/viewthread/15051/

On top of that there's also been reports of chaos at the DWP mail handling sites.

Word to the wise with PIP if you call them they will give you a no fuss no reason needed 2 week extension for the PIP form return.

My suspicion is that something is not quite rite with their mail sending as I'n receiving letters from them 10-14 days after the date on the letter. Have been for 12 months now!
  • They must of received the form and evidence though as my mum received a text message confirming so surely she doesn’t need to wait for a letter too?

No, letters are not sent as well as text messages.
  • Brilliant thanks Poppy, that post above mine confused me.
  • Mum got a letter today saying they have extended the deadline by 14 days to allow the form to be returned but this wasn’t requested because she got the text.

Is this just a cross over?

I believe due to the lengthy DWP delays in logging post, receiving it at the correct dept from the mail-room, under-staffing, and general DWP chaos the 14 day extension is now automatic.
Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.
  • Ah right thanks. Appreciate that Alice.
  • I decided to double check for my mum to put her at ease and rang this morning.

Spoke to a very lovely man who confirmed its received, logged and on their system and has already been passed to the assessment provider.

He said ignore the letter it was computer generated.

    Can ease her anxiety now.
  • Thought I’d stick to the same thread and just update to let people know.

Form received 29th October, letter received from assessment provider today the 16th November and the assessment is for 4th December. Need to speak to sight service and hope one of their support workers are free to attend with mum or if I can get day off work.

Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
