Sorry, I don't want to unburdon myself on you, but I need to talk. We've just found out that the kid who was stabbed to death in Grimsby on Friday was OH's cousin. OH went all quiet for half an hour and has just gone out into the night. No coat, no car keys, nothing.

I can't even begin to say how all this makes me feel.

He was SEVENTEEN years old. What the heck is happening in this country?

Easy for me to say but don't worry about him - he's just gone to think and the start to grieve. He'll be back.

When stories like this are on TV its so easy just to reassure yourself that they were in a gang or whatever. Ben wasn't. He was just a normal kid, a bit of a tearaway but less in trouble than most of the family's kids, in his generation at least. And I've just seen them reading a statement and showing his school picture and it doesn't seem real. And I'm worried about OH even thogugh I know he just needas space becuase I honestly don't think there's anything I can say to him.

And we saw it on TV and tried to find out who it was and all the time it was someone in the family. We thought it might be someone we knew but we never thought it would be someone we knew

Sorry to hear this news silver. What a shock for the family.

I am sick and tired of turning on the news or radio and hearing similar stories every single day....I really don't like it and feel so sad for the families.

Silver I'm so very sorry to hear your news. It's just awful beyond words that our kids seem to be constantly taken like this. There was a lad stabbed to death here who was in my son's class at school, none of it makes any sense.

There's nothing I can say which will be adequate so I'll just let you know that our thoughts and love are with you and everyone who knew and loved Ben.
