Credit investigation services

I have been recently ignoring letter from NCP regarding a couple of fines at my local Nandoes.

My brother started receiving texts and called from a company called CIS asking for payment regarding fines.

They keep calling him and hassling thinking they are talking to me...sending the usual threatening impending court action texts.

CIS are based in Scotland - are you?

The first thing to say is that you must read these documents very carefully, because I can't see any mention whatsoever of NCP.

In terms of dealing with debt collector letters, you need to read (carefully) the advice given in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #4 Come back if you get real court papers.

Call now to make a payment to prevent legal action

The main issue is they have been bothering my brother on his number asking for me, as we don’t get oh he is livid as he thinks I’ve given out his mobile to them

Do I just ignore them ?

Nine times out of ten of these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra work.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies
