I have just received a £100 parking fine from Saba parking solutions for Sandy station GNR car park, it states that my wife's car was parked from 14.33 to 22.09 and failing to obtain a parking ticket backed up by anpr shots of the car arriving and leaving.
The car was never parked between the time stated and left the car park seconds after 14.33 and returned about 5 minutes before 22.09 can anyone guide me as to what action I should take?

Do you have proof of the whereabouts of the car between the periods? Dashcam or smartphone record of movement if 'location services' is activated?
Also do a forum search on keywords Saba railway, or using their former name Indigo railway and follow the considerable advice on how to deal with this. Come back and check if you're unsure, after extensive reading, of any action you are proposing to take.

Start by reading the sticky thread for NEWBIES plus do the searches advised above.
Your choices where railway byelaws apply is to either appeal using the template in blue text from post 1 of the NEWBIES then play Q & A ping pong until it times out after six months,
OR, ignore,
OR, appeal then ignore.
The Keeper cannot be held liable where byelaws apply but the driver can and the owner may, so appeal using the template unedited, sent from The Keeper.
Complain to the DVLA that this was a case of double dipping and the scammers had no business obtaining the keeper's data. If you can prove the car was elsewhere then include that in your complaint.
You should also complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Recently I got a parking fine of £100 for parking in a carpark in Stirling Scotland I was parked in the carpark I tried to by a ticket from their machine I entered my registration put in £3.00 pressed enter and got no ticket or my money back tried again at another machine same result no ticket and now £6.00 down went to another machine not working I was on jury duty so did not have time to move car I appealed by email it has been rejected but if I pay in 14 days it's now £60 or £100 if I wait till Nov
I feel they must have a record of my attempts to pay and I was not the only one being ripped of that day as lots of people were trying to park
Should I pay the fine or fight my corner0 -

HOW TO USE THE FORUM SEARCH FUNCTION:
Use the Forum Jump button (one near the top and one near the bottom of this page) to get back to the forum thread list. Just above the threads, on the right, is a heading along a line, next to forum tools, called 'Search this Forum'. NEWBIES - HOW TO UPLOAD LINKS TO PHOTOS/SCANS TO MSE
To upload a photo/scan link, you first need to host it on a free photo hosting site (like Dropbox, Imurg or Tinypic), copy the URL, paste it here, but change the http to hxxp and we'll do the conversion. Newbies can't directly upload links to photos/scans until they've a few posts under their belt.
Oh ... and using a phone to browse the site can cause problems.. so please try a laptop/PC

I have corrected your post for you, even though you should never have posted it on someone else's thread.
The laws of Scotland are different to those south of the border. The Keeper should have read the sticky thread for NEWBIES, especially the part specifically for motorists in Scotland. They may have shot themselves in the foot by appealing.
Read the NEWBIES then start your own thread if you need further help.
Please also locate the punctuation marks on your keyboard and use them. Do not try posting on a 'phone.

Read some of these

Nine times out of ten of these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra work.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking CompaniesYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Hi Oldbilly,
Definitely appeal even if it won't get you anywhere. If you manage to string it out past 6 months you will be in the clear anyway, but if for whatever reason you end up fighting it in court, it looks better if you made your case/appealed all the way (even though it won't help). Judges seem to think these companies are reasonable people!
DO make sure you follow all the guidelines the previous posters refer to and that are freely available on this forum. It's worth spending the time reading up on them.

@MadAboutFines - sorry to read of your loss over on PePiPoo, but coming here to give your experienced advice, especially about Saba (or other railway cases) is a really great way of getting back at Saba and hopefully costing them much more (in saved penalties for others) than they've ever snatched from you.
I joined here when ParkingEye decided to mess with one of my children, from whom they managed to extract not a penny after me getting involved, and thereafter, almost 7 years and over 25,000 posts later, I think I've cost the PPC network a bit more than a weekend's beer allowance!

A so called double dip needs treating as a GDPR (data protection) breach, and fought against as such.
With SABA/indigo this aspect should be pursued, they treat motorists with a zero tolerance approach, so they should expect the same.
An offer of cancellation combined with the usual awful phrase gesture of goodwill is not good enough PPCs show no goodwill, and as such should get none In returnFrom the Plain Language Commission:
