"Onward Negotiation"

Here's an interesting service. When moving, your selling EA helps you to get a lower price on the place you want to buy. There's a (no win no pay) fee of course:)

But how can they know if they've saved you money? It's not as if you can agree a price with the vendor, and then ask a third party to lower that price. The vendor would most likely put the property back up for sale, and sell instead to someone who doesn't play games."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -
If some 'trained negotiator' rang an EA to try to let a lower price, how on earth would that work? The vendor makes the decision, not the EA lol!
Are you suggesting they ring the vendor direct? Because if they or a buyer did that to me, I'd tell them where to go.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -

I'm guessing - Property on the market at (say) £250k. You could:- Pay £250k OR
- Use an Onward Negotiator who gets it down to £240k. You have saved £10k. Onward Negotiator charges you (Guess) 10% = £1k

As a buyer why pay anything. Simply negotiate through the EA.0 -

The EA is acting for the seller and is hardly likely to negotiate a deal that's good for you:rotfl:(My username is not related to my real name)0 -

I'm not sure how you think purchase negotiation works.
What's the difference between:
a) Me offering £240k
b) The "onward negotiator" offering £240k
In both cases, the EA will pass the offer of £240k on to their client. Their client will decide whether to accept £240k.
(If anything, it's the EA's negotiating skills that are important. They will want to persuade their client to accept £240k.)0 -

EA only earns commission once the property is sold and the deal concluded. A few £'s of commision are neither here nor there.0 -

For you or me, possibly no difference:) However, Mr Average might offer £245k. The "onward negotiator", being more canny might first offer £235k before settling for £240k:T(My username is not related to my real name)0 -

What???
You'd pay an "onward negotiator" £1k, or whatever, for that mind-blowingly clever tactic?
I think that most people would work that out for themselves.0 -
Looking back at your previous post, you seem to say that you are a good negotiator:

Is it that you're seeing "Onward Negotiation" as a business opportunity for yourself?
Maybe earning thousands of pounds for very little effort?
I'm not sure it's that easy in real life.
(If it was, I suspect that there would already be lots of millionaire "onward negotiators" and large profitable firms doing "onward negotiation".)0
