Hey i just worked out what i owe in debts and look at my sig woohoo its going down slowly my 1st debt of around £3k was aboutt 2months ago..but working so hard on it now, now i done xmas shopping..guna start gettin it down more from january hehe I WILL BE DEBT FREE.
dont know if its right place to post of here but.... i love this thread so much and i post here more than anywhere else haha
Good luck with the debt pay-offs, I can sympathise as I've been there and done that to the tune of over £10,000. What I found helped was to have a list of each individual bill on a spreadsheet so I could see that each got paid every month but I also had a running total. The running total was always an odd number, say... £9763.29 and I HATE ODD NUMBERS!! So, I'd push to the limit to round it off to the nearest fiver. In the above case, I would pay an extra £3.29 to the smallest debt and continue this on a weekly or monthly basis, however regular the payments were. It actually gets quite addictive after that and sets you in good steading for saving change.
Now, the only coins I will leave in my purse are 50p and £1, everything smaller goes into my sealed pot and the £2 go into my £2 savers box.
I'm now totally debt free, use credit cards for almost everything, and always pay the balances in full each month. I also won't buy anything unless it has an offer attached and bank whatever the difference is that has been saved. These savings are now going towards my 'buy a house' challengeI reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Why not put money in a money market and make 5% interest on it over 12 months? Putting money in a jar or under the bed is the worst thing you can do with your money...sorry0

Most of the small change savings challenges mean cash can be banked each time the coins fill a bank bag, then transferred to an ISA (more than 5%). This is just a fun game to find out how much pressure a paper mache animal, bottle, tin or sealed pot can take :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.
